I heard a Spec Ops guy on laura Ingraham who stated any firefight over 3 minutes is a VERY long firefight.

God Bless these SpecOps guys - true American heroes!

I'm going to guess that this was the real reason he did not close gitmo. Would have been a total embarrassment when folks found out it was Bush's policies that gave us the info.

And tell stupid Obama....that's why they shouldn't get tried in American Courts.

God Bless ourt guys, Laura and George and all who have sacrified to defeat the terrorists.

I would guess the firefight was short. Most of the 40 minutes would have been identifying bodies and collecting every scrap of paper, laptop, CD and memory stick in the place. I doubt there are very many people working harder yesterday and today than the intel guys. Got to get 'em while they're fresh.

After 15 minutes, you will be praying for God to rain ammo on you due to lack of resupply, even in a grunt battalion.

If Special Ops guys engage in anything over about a minute, they might succeed in winning the firefight, but they might fail to reach an extraction point from lack of logistics.

Rule of thumb for reconnaissance guys is to avoid engagement, except perhaps for a raid or ambush or maybe call for fire.
