Professors Gone Wild
The American Thinker ^ | May 02, 2011 | Stuart Schwartz

Professors gone wild. That is the only conclusion you can come to when you apply Sherlock Holmes' astute dictum to the striking similarities between the widespread failures of American education and government, institutions universally dominated by a self-proclaimed "educated class." Think about what the great fictional detective said: "Once you eliminate the impossible whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." And so extracting the truth underlying the dysfunction of what the inimitable James Lewis more correctly terms our national corps of "educated idiots" (or, as our Harvard-educated president puts it more accurately, "corpse") one finds...professors.

Professors have done for the institutional mainstays of American society what the "Girls Gone Wild" video pornography franchise has done for women: degrade and deform all that come in contact with them. The pornography franchise succeeded by inducing drunken young women to perform sex in front of cameras. Although its founder put the nobility of his enterprise right up there with the activities of anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela, the results tell a different story: a trail of exploited women and shattered lives.

In the same way, behind just about every institutional dysfunction -- from media to government to education -- is an academic. In healthcare, Harvard's Donald Berwick is in Washington presiding over of medical treatment for seniors; over at the federal energy department, Berkeley's Steven Chu is assisting the administration with the destruction of the private energy sector; and Harvard's Kevin Jennings is in the White House promoting same-sex education for inner-city schools. Children may not know how to read or write but, gosh darn it, they'll know how to "fist" ("forcing one's entire hand into another person's rectum or vagina"

Institutional dysfunction has been in play from the 60’s and it’s not getting any better as long as liberalism is in play.

40 to 60 year old men who can’t control themselves. They never learn any morality and they can’t handle growing old.

I’ve said this on here often and I’ll say it again: degrees are no longer about becoming specialized in a certain field, but about a means of securing a posh job and a fat income with benefits and doing nothing useful, much like the French aristocracy securing a Court position with a pension. In many jobs, a degree wasn’t even needed, just a work ethic and quick brain, but now degrees are given out in pointless subjects which anyone can study if they take the initiative. Our Ivy League universities are now PR status symbols for entertainers who have no problems at all getting in, despite being dumb as bricks and now we have irresponsibe single mothers getting a free ride while the responsible break their backs to support their own way through. Then of course, all in sundry are let in without any consideration as to their behavior and students are terrorizing the local towns when they aren’t whoring around their dorms.

“they can’t handle growing old”

That’s the crux of the issue, they don’t want to grow up and are fighting against it every way they can.

Beware intellectuals"; they should "be kept well away from the levers of power" because they are, indeed, a mean-spirited and selfish lot.

So very true.

“it’s not getting any better as long as liberalism is in play.”

With the entertainment industry running the country’s culture and interfering in our government, along with a permanent welfare class and the resulting statism, I would certainly say that you are correct.

They are also very stupid; a large part of intellectualism is about theory, not facts and sadly they have used their theories on society, experimenting like a bunch of bureaucratic Mengeles.

So, I suppose you'll next try to tell me a graduate degree in women's studies has no utility out in the real world? /s

Yes :) I am an avid reader of literature and I’m doing well in building my own commodity business. In time, medicine, but I am making money first to pay off as much of it as I can upfront, plus I might just hire someone to teach me and then I will be able to bypass the regular system altogether. I can pay a retired Virologist to teach me all I need to know really. No bothering with competing with all and sundry when I can just pay and get it all direct.

Go a little easy on the professors...they’re in love...with themselves.
