Why, oh why? Why are they being so ridiculous? Respect the traditions with respect to such a monster? If Pakistanis kill a Western leader, would they bury him according to Christian traditions?
We know they wouldn't. And Osama's death will trigger violent reaction in the Arab street, maybe ours too.
Obama is hoping by showing such 'post respect' it will tamp down that reaction. Osama is a hero in throughout the Middle East. They sell his likeness on t-shirts etc. as souvenirs. I'll never forget the picture of the kid wearing just such a shirt in the midst of the tsunami/earthquake rubble...
As far as buried at sea, I sure hope so. This leaves the al-queda supporters no grave to visit, no body to dig up etc.
