The terse announcement came just after 9:45 p.m. Sunday from Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director.
“POTUS to address the nation tonight at 10:30 PM Eastern Time,” he wrote on Twitter, sharing the same message that had just been transmitted to the White House press corps.
According to Brian Williams, the “NBC Nightly News” anchor, some journalists received a three-word e-mail that simply read, “Get to work.”

That speculation was not aired out on television immediately, but it did erupt on Twitter and other social networking sites.
Wishful thinking about bin Laden’s death ricocheted across the Web — and then, at 10:25 p.m., while Mr. Obama was writing his speech, one particular tweet seemed to confirm it. Keith Urbahn, the chief of staff for the former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, wrote at that time, “So I’m told by a reputable person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn.”

Words to describe how I feel about this administration fail me. How Americans could look at what our troops were sacrificing in Iraq and give them Obama as a reward is beyond me. I hate what this country has done to its heroes. I hate what the voters of this country are allowing this usurper to do to our heroes right now.
Let’s say, ‘liberal by age forty’ means mental issues. There are people who, through no fault of their own, start out as liberals and then see the error of their ways. If the transformation hasn’t begun by age 40, though, it’s safe to conclude you’re dealing with a moonbat. ;)

I used to be a liberal too. Up to a point it can simply be a cultural thing, or a mistaken belief system that hasn’t yet smacked up against reality. After a certain point/age it does trend toward mental illness, because the cognitive gap between reality and liberalism is so great.
Iow, to maintain liberal beliefs after a while requires the sacrifice of critical rational thinking, along with the cognitive dissonance of denying what your own eyes and ears are telling you. It was hard for me to make the break because I lost the lifelong respect of my favorite relative. It was well worth it, though.

Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, revealed there was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from cameras mounted on the helmets of the US special forces was cut off.
