It is time to listen to some quiet voices of reason in the arguments over people of Muslim faith.
From Ground Zero to Yorba Linda, from Gainesville, Fla. to UCI, from Elk Grove to Disneyland, we sway one way or the other while whoever shouts the loudest leads the debates.

Slurs against Muslims just as slurs against Pollacks, The Irish, etc confirm the American value of free speech.
Telling the truth is a slur?
Remember 9-11.
Actually, it's past time more Americans learned some real history of Islam, and not the PC fairly tales most want to tell them.
Here’s a few other things that hurt American values:
Flying airplanes into buildings.
Stoning women.
Honor killings.
It’s important to remember that the contrived word, “Islamophobia”, is often used as rationalization for bad behavior by Muslims, who more or less follow written doctrines that may legitimately be criticized when they are used to justify bad behavior. “Islam” is not a race, but a set of behavior.
More properly, if called “Islamophobic”, the truth is that you are likely “Islamoskeptic”, that based on previous bad behavior by Muslims, in the name of Islam, you are distrustful of claims by Muslims that their religion does not countenance such bad behavior, especially when their holy book quite clearly says that it does countenance, even encourage, such bad behavior.
And it is important to note that those who so lack objectivity that they cannot distinguish between Islamoskepticism, Islamophobia, or racism, are likely “Islamophiles”, enamored with Islam and Muslims, often precisely when their behavior is at its worst, and their actions are most hateful.
I don’t slur the murderous followers of the pedophile pirate, my comments are carefully considered descriptions. If Mohammedans are insulted, they would be better served to change their ways than trying to deny me my rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.
This muslim walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder. The bartender holds up his hand and says ....
[The remainder of this bad joke has been redacted by the Orange County Register, proud supporter of the Bill of Rights.]
Most succinct post of the year award!!
Most muslims did not fly airplanes into buildings on 911.
That being said...unlike most Freepers, I’ve studied the Koran and it’s full of violence, affronts to Western morality, and personal threats to women, particularly.
Muslims probably know as little about the Christians do the Bible. I’ve pointed out biblical references to Christians which they deny exist (here on FR, too), and Koranic references to Muslims, which they just give me the “look” (the “look” is what a teenage retail clerk gives you when you ask them a question when they’re actually thinking only about sports).
Theology school opened my mind up in all kinds of ways.
Slurs against Muslim? Like statements against Muslims? What can one possibly say about a Muslim that is a slur? That Muslims intermarry and produce sociopaths? Is that a slur or a fact? That Muslims slit the throats of unbelievers? Is that a slur or a fact? That Muslims kill their own daughters and wives as an action of honor? Is that a slur or a fact? How does one slur a Muslim?
The unalterable fact is that the koran, hadiths and shari’ah are antithetically and eternally opposed to American values and the US Constitution.
Typical LibTard viewpoint. It isn't who shouts the loudest, idiot, it's who makes the most sense. And, it's only when you know you don't make sense that you have to shout.
Christians have a expression, “Hate the sin, not the sinner,” and I think most Americans would like to keep their judgments of individual Muslims separated from their opinions of Islam. The failure of most Muslims to accept and admit the true nature of Islam, which is violence and subjugation, makes it more, not less, difficult to make the sin and sinner distinction. The big lie that attempts to extricate Islam from terrorism by using terms like radical or fundamentalist, or accusing terrorists of misrepresenting the Koran and Islam will never become true, no matter how many times it is shouted. Islam is what it is, and it is troubling that so many Muslims wish to deceive us into thinking different. The dishonesty makes me think the smart thing is to assume all Muslims are potential terrorists, even though some, by their nature, not by Islam, might not be. Mush like this is for the hopelessly weak-minded.
