I think you better brush up on “Just War Doctrine”. It doesn’t apply here. Not even close!

There are two "Just War doctrines".

The most recent (and better known) was formulated by Aquinas as nation-states were coming into being. Hence the emphasis on diplomacy ("last resort") and proportionality.

The older, simpler, and least known doctrine is the one by +Augustine.

Ever since September 11, 2001, I have believed that our times more closely resemble those of +Augustine than those of Aquinas.
