GURNEY GETS A BIG BREAK! - AIR FORCE LT GENERAL CUTS 16 MONTHS OFF PRISON TERM FOR "LOVER-BOY" COMMAND CHIEF AND REVERSES "DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE" WILLIAM GURNEY STILL GETS BCD AND NO PENSION BUT NOW WILL GO OUT DOOR AS "AIRMAN BASIC" - TOP-RANKING NCO HAD BEEN CONVICTED ON 15 SEX MISCONDUCT CHARGES

Well, this one was certainly a surprise.
Who would have thought former Command Chief Master Sgt. William Gurney, convicted at court-martial earlier this year on numerous sex charges, would get such a big break? But it happened.
Lt. Gen. Robert Allardice, 18th Air Force commander, has decreed Gurney's prison sentence will be shortened by 16 months and his "dishonorable discharge" reversed. This will not only make the former top-ranking NCO a free man in a matter of weeks, but getting rid of the DD on his records will help a bit when he tries to find meaningful employment in the civilian sector.
Gurney will still go out on a BCD (bad conduct discharge) and finish up his USAF career as an "airman basic (E-1)," the lowest pay grade in the Air Force.
WE ASK READERS TO COMMENT ON GENERAL'S DECISION
A spokesman for the general would not elaborate on why the three-star showed Gurney such mercy, simply saying: "The general believes his decision in this case was an appropriate one."
What about you, dear reader? Do you think Gen. Allardice did the right thing? Send us an e-mail and "sound off." Thank you.
"I was caught up in a cycle of sin," said a seemingly chastioned Gurney during his court-martial at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. Either that sentiment was genuine, or he was just sorry he got caught.
The question of how much he actually "victimized" the women he slept with, has not been fully answered. We here at MilitaryCorruption.com always thought it strange that Mrs. Gurney reportedly "joined in" the bedroom romps. Why was that? To ensure her hubby not be charged with "adultery" if caught down the road? Does she like young women, too?
There is one more factor that might come into play here. Despite the general's decision, which seems written in stone, there could be "political correctness" repercussions. All it would take is one female going to the mainstream media, say "60 Minutes," and complain Gurney got too big a break. What would the Pentagon do then?
I knew a full bull that blew his brains out over this type of thing.
Unfortunately I’ve seen my fair share of inappropriate relationships in the Air Force and it goes both ways.
I once witnessed a female Airmen get drunk, rub herself all over a group of guys and then file a sexual harassment report against them the next day.
Gurney is a dirtbag and is getting off light.
Where in tarnation was the chain of command on this?
At least they didn’t do a clinton and give him a big-paying book deal...
Actually, from what I saw in the USAF, I’d say they are treating him more harshly than most. And if he had gay lovers, he would have been given a medal for promoting diversity.
