““Can we prevent a second civil war?”

First question: why would you want to?”

Our enemies within & without are watching and waiting for an opening. It would be best if we could work out our problems through debate and at the ballot box. In any case, I agree - better to “live free or die”.

That is the ideal situation, however that is how adults handle it. This is from a former Henry Jackson Democrat. However we are now dealing with an opposition of “children” who view physical assault and destruction of property as legitimate forms of political expression. I live in the Twin Cities area and saw first hand the “political free expression” at RNC 2008. There is no reasoning with these people. Even if their numbers ge fewer as the scales fall from some eyes and the Kool-Aid wears off, the true believers will get even more rabid, pumped up by the likes of Ed Schultz and Mike Malloy - types that actually encourage the SEIU thugs, and turn around and accuse the conservative talkers of doing the same, while saying “Who? Me?”.
We are in the cold war phase of the CW2. It will go hot when the Far Left sees its perceived support dwindle. They will not accept defeat. If the Far Left can not dominate, they are compelled to annihilate,
