London is no longer an English city, says John Cleese. Is he right?

LOL just said the same.

These north east muppets move down here to the south and bring their liberal ignorant ways with them.
They’re like locusts who move on to a place, ruin it and then move on again to repeat .

We’ve been talking about a wall on the border how about one on the Potomac too

Were you in Mayfair?

Not this trip, but I have stayed there many years ago. This time I stayed near the Burough Market for a few days, then a quick trip to Edinburgh, then a few days on the Strand and back home. I was visiting my daughter, who was living there at the time. She showed me all around.

Most of the people described as “Californians” are not. The problem is not Californian’s, but all the people who moved here from other states and other countries and ruined it for the rest of us and who have slimed us all as loonies. I assert that these transplants were loonies before they showed up here and all it has done is attract more loonies. If you can actually find a born and bred 2nd or 3rd generation Californian you would probably be surprised at how sane and conservative we really are.

I would say the proof of the above could be found in the makeup of the California Assembly, and that might be NO proof at all. That would be my guess premise, unless facts intervene.

Much of NJ has been ruined by New Yorkers.

If FL hasn’t been, it has to be very close.

I mention Mayfair because daughter and I stayed there during our visit in ´94, but it seemed more like visiting Saudi Arabia with all the burqas and loud Arabic parties every night. Maybe Kensington would have been better. But now having seen it, I don´t need to go back.

Best to You and Yours....

There are different degrees of liberalism, some are very liberal in terms of domestic policy in terms of economics, but still somewhat nationalistic. Then you have your internationalist liberals, that want to extend their liberalism on a global basis. I would put Cleese in that first category.

Thanks Eurotwit.
"There were disadvantages to the old culture, it was a bit stuffy and it was more sexist and more racist. But it was an educated and middle-class culture. Now it's a yob culture. The values are so strange." He added that he preferred living in Bath to London because the capital no longer felt "English".
