Meanwhile, ads for “Freddie Gets Fingered: 3-D” run non-stop on PMSNBC and CNN...

"...the only group that was not offended by Atlas Shrugged was the general public. The few positive comments that were found praised Rands entertaining manner of illustrating her philosophy for the audience of the everyday person. However that was exactly what enraged the academic population, they did not want the public to accept Rands absurd belief system as their own just because her writing appeared to be academic." ..."Libertarian Roy A. Childs praiseD the book, saying It is a mystery story that doubles as a defense of reason, individualism, civilization, and capitalism. It is a hymn to human achievement, celebrating the spiritual roots of human greatness. - http://www3.isrl.illinois.edu

Actually, you should read “We The Living” first. It helps understand how her later viewpoints came about.

They should advertise on Glenn Beck’s show instead of 5 different gold dealers.

just goes to show the ‘gate keepers’ are progressives and they are doing everything they can to keep anything like Atlas Shrugged from getting to the public
in this case, the ‘gate keepers’ would be critics.
in schools, it’s the teachers.

I hit used book stores.
Just obtained a hand bound leather edition of Bartlett's Quotes for $8.50.... It is untouched and pristine as far as I see.
I desire an original “Blade Runner”.

Actually, you should read We The Living first. It helps understand how her later viewpoints came about. Not to mention offering a preview of the world the collectivists have in mind for us. Also enlightening is this marvelous and massive collection of drawings from a young lady who lived through the Soviet Marxist experience and became an "enemy of the people" because her parents were "evil" property owners.

Both are handy when trying to explain how "economic fairness" leads to slavery.

The movie has only been in limited release for two weeks. It seems premature to think it will not make back the $10M investment when it is already 1/3rd of the way there after two weeks. There is still wide release in the US and release in other countries and DVD sales yet unkown.

The critics savaged it and yet everyone who sent a revew into us loved it. That's because a large proportion of the the people sending in reviews are Rand cultists.

I read “Anthem” when it was an assignment for my high school English class over a decade ago. Of all the dystopian sci-fi novels I've read about a oppressive future society (Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, etc.) hers was easily the worse with one-dimensional characters, boring writing, forgettable scenes, and a predictable ending. Having gotten a taste of Rand's so-called “groundbreaking” work, I have no desire to any more of her “masterpieces”.
