Lots of shinnery north of Abilene, too. My grandmother and
aunts used to go out into that area, because there were also
blackberries (or dewberries) growing there. Rattlesnakes loved
it there, too. Probably loved having the dunes sagebrush lizard
for lunch! LOL! Now....do we eliminate them for EATING the
silly lizard?
We were hell on that lizard with BB guns along with the Six Lined Racer back when we were kids.
I saw some fat *** dewberries today, but they was on the other side of the bar ditch.
Wasnt worth the effort, but they will be coming on soon
