While Obama played Oprah

At his birth certificate press conference yesterday, Obama put it this way: "We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We have more important things to do. I have more important things to do." Then he took off for Chicago to put in some "important" face time on Oprah's show.

An alert reader who serves in one of the branches of the military points out what President Bush was up to while Obama was attending to business on Oprah:

TERLINGUA, Texas (AP) -- Kenneth Butler touched the metal end of his prosthetic arm instinctively as he recalled the horrors he witnessed in Iraq.

Four years after losing his limb when his vehicle was hit by a bomb in Baghdad, the retired army staff sergeant got his first chance this week to meet former President George W. Bush during a three-day bike ride in West Texas attended by more than a dozen other wounded veterans and cycling legend Lance Armstrong.

Bush rode in the event for a chance to meet with veterans and thank them for their sacrifice. But for Butler, he holds no ill-will toward the man who sent thousands of Americans to war in 2003.

"I feel his compassion," the retired parachute infantry squad leader said Wednesday, with a note of melancholy. "It feels like he really cares about us."

Bush and 15 wounded veterans were joined Wednesday in the last leg of a 62.5-mile ride through the rugged desert trails of Big Bend National Park by Armstrong, a seven-time Tour de France champion.

Although Bush acknowledges struggling to keep up during the trek, he said he relished the opportunity.

"As a commander in chief, it was my decision to put them in harm's way in the first place," he said. "I feel a special bond toward them and I want them to know I'll never forget them."

Bush should realize that he does not have time for this “silliness” and schedule a time to go on Oprah.

“Bush rode in the event for a chance to meet with veterans and thank them for their sacrifice”

...they can say what they want about Bush but we’ll never see the kenyan turd doing anything closely related to this. I doubt he’d be welcomed anyway.

Wow. You mean there was once a time when president’s manned up to their responsibilities and believed in America?

Who knew?

And it’s so sickening to realize that the thought of doing something like this will NEVER cross Obama’s mind. Ever. It’s all about HIM.

As opposed to the current occupant of the White House, whose only interest in these soldiers is how to use them as props for his never-ending campaign.

GWB was a tax cutter (and a profligate spender) who loves his country and his country's warriors:

“We do not have time for this kind of silliness.”

And yet, it took five minutes to submit it? I guess if you count the 2.5 years—it was a lot of time.

Actually, President Bush did appear on Oprah last November and it was a very good interview. I got a kick out of his answer when Oprah asked if he had any advice for parents. He said: “Look them straight in the eye and say, ‘I love you and there is nothing in the world you can do to change that - so stop trying.’ “

The Kenyen thought moew about going on Oprah than the suffering of thousangs of people killed hurt and homeless because of the tornadoes. I heard he is going to Alabama today but the tornadoes have been ripping for over a week. If Bush had done the same they would say he don’t care about black people. Just like Katrina.

George W. Bush =

RESPECT
CLASS
DIGNITY
HONOR
CHARACTER

and Barack Hussein Obama jets off to ‘where ever’ because he doesn't have time for silliness.
but now he will jet off to Alabama for a few photo op’s...what a jerk.

The only "audience" he can get guaranteed not to have hecklers, or questions.

that photo makes me want to cry, because the look on his face says he truly cares about that girl and her personal story. He might have forgotten how to budget, but he NEVER forgot about the American citizen, and those who fight to keep their fellow citizens safe. NEVER.

Meanwhile. back in obamaland....it's time for a little golf, maybe some b-ball.... oh yeah, I'm sure it's about time for a vacation again.....

I have more important things to do

Yup, like finishing destroying America. Some Americans are just not really waking up yet. Some day King Obama will shove them under the bus when he is finally dictator and have no need for them. In the meantime his communists friends in the Administration will continue to destroy while he golfs, travels campaigning, vacations, etc. This ass probably hasn't spent 10 days so far making any decisions.

My favorite picture of President Bush. I had my differences with his immigration policy, his “reaching across the aisle” and some of his programs, but there were some key things I don’t fault him at all for:

1.) He was a patriot and unreservedly loves America. No question.

2.) He was conscious of the gravity and trappings of the office of the Presidency.

3.) He was never disrespectful to people, even to his enemies (whom I often wished he HAD been disrespectful to.)

4.) He took his job seriously.

5.) He took America’s place in the world seriously.

6.) He respected the Military, and they knew it.

7.) He understood who was in charge. In the Executive branch and the Commander in Chief, it was him.

8.) He accepted responsibility.

9.) He understood that the President serves the citizenry and not the other way around.

10.) He was loyal. To a fault.

He had plenty of faults, as mentioned above, and he should have pardoned Scooter Libby, just to name one thing. But he was generally not vindictive, petty or mean, at least, any more than a normal person.

And he wasn’t deliberately driving the country over a cliff.
