In defense of RINOs
World Net Daily ^ | 2011-04-27 | Burt Prelutsky

Posted on 04/27/2011 8:24:19 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Even though the next presidential election is still more than 500 days away, it's never too soon to be prepared. After all, Obama hasn't stopped campaigning since Election Day, 2008.

To begin with, and let me be very clear about this: No third-party candidate, no matter how sincere or how well-funded – whether the party calls itself Libertarian, Constitution, Tea Party, Bull Moose or Whig – is ever going to win a national election. All a third-party candidate will do is ensure that a liberal will be able to win with just 40-45 percent of the vote.

Also, anyone who is too pure in heart to vote for the Republican nominee, whoever it turns out to be, doesn't then get to say, "Well, at least I had nothing to do with re-electing Barack Obama." If you don't vote for, as some folks like to say, the lesser of two evils, you will have a lot to do with electing the greater menace.

It is high time Republicans grew up. The reality is that politics isn't a game for kind hearts and gentle spirits; it's a blood sport with everything from war to energy policy to tax rates riding on the outcome. Therefore, it verges on the insane when conservatives demean the less conservative as Republicans in Name Only (RINOs).

Then it is a game that should be banned.. It has become a monster that pays no heed to who it represents much less oppresses to achive its own end.

RINOs sicken me. Screw this guy’s opinion.

It’s like saying don’t call the liberals in your own party, liberal. Hug them.

Screw that jazz. Go over to the democrats.

You don’t have to have a third party candidate to get rid of the RINOS.

This bleeding heart codswallop is beyond stupid !

There are plenty of damned RINOS who are or who are possibly thinking or being talked about running for president, this time around, who, if elected, would be just as bad as Obama.

Correction: World Net Daily did NOT say “give in to RINOs.” Burt Prelutsky did.

WND carries columns from all sorts of people from the goofy Ann Coulter to extemely goofy Bill Press.

Do not ascribe an opinion of Mr. Prelutsky to that of WND, because you would be wrong.

Work as hard as you can to get the Republicans to nominate the most electable strong Conservative, but if you don't succeed, don't blame the Republican Party.

To not support the R nominee is to help reelect Obama.

So vote for a gutless RINO who will cave at every turn. /s

The Republican mantra: "We suck less than the Democrats!"

Somehow this fails to satisfy.

Rinos are socialists, no thanks. Most dems are communists. We just have to get an electable conservative. Otherwise the republic is toast.

This much is true. At almost every level (especially nationally), voting 3rd party is sheer idiocy. Why some people are determined to waste their vote on 3rd party candidates is a mystery to me.

I don’t like reality, but I deal with it my way.

I do exactly what you suggest. But I do not go out of my way to back RINOs, if they get elected it is without my help.

Agree. We have to nominate the most conservative candidate possible; still, whoever wins GOP primary will have my vote, RINO or not. If we play purist game again as we did in 2008 - =then= Republic is a toast.

To not support the R nominee is to help reelect Obama.

BS.

To put a RINO in the White House is no better for the future of this country than Obama being in the White House, and at least the blame is put squarely where it belongs, on the head of a dem.

Make a stand and vote your principles. Obama or Romney, no difference. Obama or Trump, no difference. Obama or Huckabee, no difference.

If a RINO ends up being the Republican nominee, it makes absolutely no difference who wins, IMO. We MUST have a solid conservative steering this country back towards prosperity, or else we're simply participating in a circle jerk, IMO.

In the end, it really doesn't matter from my point of view as there seems to be no politician ready, willing and able to make the hard choices necessary to do what is needed to put this country back on the right track.

Our best bet is to prepare to exercise our second amendment rights, and although I hope I am mistaken, I have a sinking feeling that such a course of action is the only chance this country has to survive, and I desperately hope to be proved wrong.

I will never again vote for the lesser of two evils. McCain did not get my vote 2010. Romney will not get my vote 2012, nor will any RINO. Republicans are counting on conservatives voting for the Republican anointed one. Just say no!

Ditto. I'd rather see a liberal elected than a RINO. Either way we end up in the same place, but with a RINO they will blame the Republicans for the mess. Better to let the liberals get full credit if we are going there anyway.

In the meantime, prepare because neither party is going to do what is necessary to avoid a bad outcome for this country. I'm getting ready for the post-SHTF America.
