When the PDF file given from WhiteHouse.gov is opened in Adobe Illustrator it shows up in different layers.
Our analysis of the latest controversy: The original birth certificate was probably in a negative form, and someone at the White House took it upon themselves to doctor it up so the form can be readable.
Previously from BNO News: Obama releases long form birth certificate to end debate
National Review:
The PDF is composed of multiple images. Thats correct. Using a photo editor or PDF viewer of your choice, you can extract this image data, view it, hide it, etc. But these layers, as theyre being called, arent layers in the traditional photo-editing sense of the word. They are, quite literally, pieces of image data that have been positioned in a PDF container. They appear as text but also contain glyphs, dots, lines, boxes, squiggles, and random garbage. Theyre not combined or merged in any way. Quite simply, they look like they were created programmatically, not by a human.
Whats plausible is that somewhere along the way from the scanning device to the PDF-creation software, both of which can perform OCR (optical character recognition) these partial/pseudo-text images were created and saved. Whats not plausible is that the government spent all this time manufacturing Obamas birth certificate only to commit the laughably rookie mistake of exporting the layers from Photoshop, or whatever photo editing software they are meant to have used. Its likely that whoever scanned the birth certificate in Hawaii forgot to turn off the OCR setting on the scanner. Lets leave it at that.

A link for that would help.
That's news to me.
Hmmm...
Yep.
Still here.
How about that?
“Does the info at the bottom of the form serve to indicate that Alvin Onaka actually signed off on this on 4/25/11 ? If he is currently a State Employee, would he be intentionally endorsing a fraudulent document ? Not sure.”
The “rubber stamp signee” can always claim “someone stole my stamp, I didn’t do it” should criminal charges ever be levied and if it is disclosed this was a fraud. That’s why I’m guessing there’s no original signature on it. After all, wouldn’t you expect an original given the circumstances and the fact he’s president?
The Nordyke twins who were born the same week have the same Hospital name. There is no reason their more reliable document would also have been faked.
Have you forgotten about the Dan Rather bullshit that WE on the INTERNET exposed as a FRAUD... asshole?
That's your basic sociopath's "I don' wanna" at work. They'll go to great extremes to avoid the appearance that someone else told them what to do.
Releasing the document now only makes people more suspicious of BO than ever. I believe most will think it’s a fake just because of the timing of the release. His snotty attitude at the release did not help him either. I think a new can of worms has been opened. Hopefully, it will be the Oct 2012 surprise.
“Are you saying the TXE proves this document is real or the opposite”
TXE proves that the “two layers” are caused by the scan2pdf software. If you examine the PDF as a binary file you will see, that the first layer with the foreground was generated by the scan spftwares OCR engine to make the document indexable/searchable. OCR software mistakes letters or doesn’t recognize em sometimes. So what happened is: The software tried to seperate the foreground from the background. Some letters were not recognized at all and remained on the background. Other “blocks” got refractured into “images” like parts of the signaturs, lines and letters into “digital” letters. Therby a H was mistaken for a X by the OCR engine which can easily happen. This also explains why some letters look somehow odd/different. You can verify this easily using a program like hexdump on the pdf and the PDF spec.
This website is for mature, civil adults. Enough said?
So why are you here then?
OK - thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, while can see that the H was mistaken for an X, I have limited understanding on PDF binary files and still do not know if this gives weight to this document being a fraud or it if supports it as being authentic and credible.
Please excuse my ignorance, but if you can clarify that, I’d appreciate it. Thx so much !
I assume Trump and his team are planning to peel off the layers one by one.
The idea that the Zero wants this alive is beyond stupid.
They did a crappy job because it was a rush job and they’re trembling in fear and sweating.
Who's ‘We’?
Buckhead was one of the first, if not the first, to catch it. And Charles Johnson of LGF (who has little love for FR) made the ‘throbbing memo’.
You were a FR member for less than a month when it went down.
Just because you posted at the same website as Buckhead doesn't mean you had a hand in the exposure.
And best of all, it doesn't mean that the case for any old idiocy upon which you choose to hang your hat on is somehow strengthened because of any comment you may have made on Rathergate.
Plus, you'll notice how quickly a truly falsified document fell apart and had real-world consequences as a result of Rathergate.
As opposed to Birthers who have so far only served to increase web traffic to Internet cranks, divert money to charlatans and enrich a few lawyers. But no real consequences for BHO.
Please tell me you're not really such an utter bonehead as to believe you can relate being accused of killing kittens to being asked for your birth certificate? The former is something a psychotic person does, the latter is something each and every natural born American citizen owns. The former question should be ignored, the latter question is legitimately asked to every American citizen at least several times or more during their lives. AND THEY ALL MUST PRODUCE THE DOCUMENT. Unless, of course, they don't have one and need lots of time to produce a good forgery. They also need lots of time to get their rump swabs to ask questions about kittens.
Your assumption about how OCR software works is wrong. The image is always maintained. It does not change because of the OCR, error or no error. The OCR generates a text layer that may have an error, but that error would only show up when you copied and pasted the text elsewhere. Viewing the PDF with a generic viewer would show the original image. So the TXE is in the original image.
Not saying this makes it fake or otherwise but it certainly does raise flags.
Question - if this is a fraudulant doc (I can’t make a case either way yet), wouldn’t the Registrar, Alvin Onaka (a Ph.D.) be at risk having his stamped signature at the bottom ?
Also, there are so many opinions on PDF layers (both pro and con) that it is difficult to make a judgment. What do you think ? Thx !
You either missed the point or are just trying to be cute. Neither impresses me. You know exactly what I meant. Save the cutesiness for those who fall for it.
