AP reporting 64 confirmed dead so far today.
FEMA, eh? Well, at least somebody at the White House decided they better get out in front of the situation before Obummer jets off to his next fundraiser tomorrow.
Want to bet whether he’ll come out with a statement himself or let his fresh-faced press secretary do it for him?
Pffft.

64 dead from just this outbreak.
With the cumulative being ~200 so far this season, has to be
a record.
Prayers for those taken and their families in this catastrophe.

Most bad storms up till tonight haven't been making it past the Cumberland Plateau coming west to east. They had died down by the time they crossed Rosevelt Mountain at Rockwood. This one is coming up from Alabama and there is nothing to slow it down. It's following the valley.
I'm close to the Norris/Clinton/Halls area. I've seen hail twice tonight real unusual for here. Earlier NWS radar had tornado warnings stretching from Huntsville, Alabama through what looked like Middlesboro, Kentucky. No real bad stuff here though just a lot of rain. I've lost count of Tornado Warnings for my county this evening though. I'm guessing about 6-8 this evening.

West Virginia has a number of Tornado Watches/Warnings.
Georgia has one or two in Northern Georgia. It appears that Atlanta might be spared...
Storms are headed from West Virginia into Virginia...
Still quite a few Tornado Warnings/Watches in Tennessee right now...

Ouch - it sounds REAL bad for Ringgold. For anyon interested, GA highway 151 is Alabama Highway, where the greatest concentration of restaurants and hotels is. It sounds absolutely devastating if the Super 8 collapsed.
