Same mistake as before.....fathers’ race is AFRICAN. So shouldn’t mothers’ race be AMERICAN? I mean c’mon let’s be consistent here /s.
Back in that era race would be BLACK or NEGRO.
The Hawaiian Administrative Code in force at the time (1961) requires “Negro” for race determination.

Actually, back in 1961, it would have been listed as either Negro or Colored. We didn’t start saying “Black” until the very late 60s or early 70s.
