Also, if you just zoom in... in... in 11 clicks on the PDF, everything your image SHOWS drops out and you have only the “whited out” parts remaining. Is this normal functioning for a PDF copy??

Absolute subterfuge going on. This is not a scan of a document. It is a doctored image. You do not have this kind of clipping masks and layers from a scan. A scan is just a single flat image. This document shows digital manipulation. There is absolutely no good reason for the document to be like this.

For those of us not skilled with Adobe PhotoShop, can you explain what this means?

I am going to ask my daughter-in-law, who is a graphic artist, but she may not have the time.
