I have one of Malcomb Coopers AI rifles in 300 Win mag I purchased at great cost to my then poor NCO pay scale fed savings. It had been cut for a custom 300 Win Mag load that is longer than standard. Rounds were made for it by Sandia Die & Cartridge in Albuquerque, NM. Not sure if the company is still there.
Sandia headstamp on their loading. Was made for DOD and had a DODIC assigned. I had a USMC Unertl 10X on it and it shot better than anyone in my unit could make it if that makes sense. Changed its optics to a 16X Leupold Mk 4 Ultra from their custom shop later on as Marine Gunsmith made me a accurate copy of the M40A1 so the Unertl had to go on that. HAD to.....:o)
Bought 3 cases of the ammo out of pocket and was given lots more by uncle sugar. The rounds will not chamber in my other 300 Win Mags due it’s OAL.
Accuracy International rifle I own is a treasure and well made. Hope the quality is still there for those interested in one. Can’t say enough good things about the one I purchased.
Stay safe Archy !!!
Your’e talking about Bruce who lives in the canyon and walks his big ol’ dogs on 66.
He’s been slowed down by a stroke, but still gets around.
Saw him in the grocery store in 4 Hills not too long ago.
