I recently had a conversation with a missionary who has worked in the Middle East and South Asia. He told me that most Middle Easterners who get internet access, usually get to learn about America's huge internet pornography industry.
He says that the porn industry causes many foreigners to have contempt for America, as a nation of moral degenerates. This greatly harms attempts by American missionaries to get converts. It also harms US foreign policy, because their image of American culture, is that of gay sex pictures, bestiality pictures, and other peversions.
I do not favor completely outlawing pornography. But I believe that all internet websites should be blocked off, with access being made possible only to adults who have credit cards. What do you think of the idea?
That missionary should tune in to the Saudi channels on NileSat and check out the porn there.
The same 12 year old girl or boy in a Muslim country can be wedded to an older man and be forced into sex ( in the case of the girl) or forced into religious state sanctioned sex slavery (in the case of young boys during war)...
As well as Gangsta Rap, and crap like Lady Gaga.

No, I defined pornography. Most people confuse nudity or near nudity with pornography. There is a difference.

Yep. I could add to that list - MTV, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, the Kardashian bimbettes, etc etc etc etc
Every attempt to censor or shut down sites for the "protection of the children" will only give powerful governments the tools they need to control all content.
Keep your eyes on your children and their internet usage, but don't let the government do the same to you.
Sooo, a Christian missionary is having trouble converting Muslims to his brand, and we are supposed to use this as a reason to alter US foreign policy? Or business policy? Both?
Have we reached such a state of desperation that some would deprive others of rights (heck they might even give up those rights themselves, sometimes) so as to favor one business over another? Doesn’t sound like America to me.
And why in the names of all who are holy would you want the credit card companies to be the arbiter of morality in your world?
Also, remember when they rampaged in Afghanistan, because some preacher burned a Koran, what they were really rampaging against was the fact, that we actually have the freedoms in this country to do such a thing.
Despite this crippling ‘image’ problem we are one of the few nations on earth to which hordes of immigrants flow every day of every year, including many from these so-called morally superior countries.
Arabs are sexual deviates so the point is moot.
Then there is Japan where there is a thriving vending machine business selling used little girls panties and possession of kiddy porn is not a crime.

The porn industry has severely harmed America's image in the world.
Woe to Thailand and several Far East countries.
Their image is equivalent to a Helen Thomas picture.
Then you might also consider that people have varying definitions of “sex acts”. (Think, Bill Clinton)
Having grown up in an international city, traveled a bit, lived abroad for years, and talked to many people in all those places who were visiting from still other places, the short answer I’d give is, yes.
Do Americans really want to be thought of as the world’s favorite whores? And if prostitution is illegal, as I think it should be, than how can filming people being paid for sex acts be legal, rather than evidence of crime?
