I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but how does power go out at three different refineries? Is this part of a plan to shut down Texas refineries, like the government just shut down a major Texas oil well? Can you envision the EPA demanding they shut down because of the danger to the environment (not to people--the EPA couldn't care less about humans. Lizards, yes; people, no.

just because it’s a conspiracy doesn’t mean it’s not true. Evidence would indicate that obamby is intent on breaking all the states that will not vote for him, or have worked against him in some way. That includes most southern states.

Oh boy!
Now Barry has a flimsy excuse to do something draconian to the refineries, like shut them down!
That won't affect the price of gas though, and you are a racist if you say it will.

The story in Houston is that it has been SO dry in Texas that salt is accumulating on the insulators on the transmission lines. ERCOT confirms that the outages are on company assets internal to the plant, and that other customers are not affected.
Usually the rain keeps the salt off. No rain for a long time here.

The source of the power outages was still being sought, emergency officials said. CLUE:

Events like this remind us that it is important to have stored food and water. And to have some means of getting power and cooking food, too.

The EPA will probably issue a total shut down order for these refineries while they investigate, fine, re-regulate and procrcrastinate.

More than likely it’s due to a salt buildup on the power lines.
It’s been so dry here in Texas there has been no rain to wash the salt off of the lines so it will build up.
When you do get moisture on the lines it will short them out.
It’s common on the coast.
