Katie Couric: "I have decided to step down from the CBS Evening News," Couric tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I'm really proud of the talented team on the CBS Evening News and the award-winning work we've been able to do in the past five years in addition to the reporting I've done for 60 Minutes and CBS Sunday Morning. In making the decision to move on, I know the Evening News will be in great hands, but I am excited about the future."
Translation:
"CBS declined to renew my contract when they figured out that they were paying me about $330,000.00 per year per viewer. Clearly, I suck as a journalist and as a media personality. Who knew it was all about ratings...not to mention professional integrity?"

“multi-dimensional storytelling,”
Isn’t that the way she already reports “news”?

“Or was she constipated?”
Well put. I was going to say something about that 2nd picture myself but found it too vulgar. Your description was much classier than what I was going to say.

You know, with proper full-time supervision, she might, just might make an adequate sock puppet.

Wasn’t her highest rated show the first week when she had on Rush Limbaugh?

A couple of prunes will resolve that issue.

News? Is that what CBS calls that time slot?
I thought that time period was set aside for their DNC contribution.

Well, I guess her family will care. But her audience is so small, she’ll probably be gone for several years before and sizable group of people knows she left the network news. And I use the word “news” guardedly.
Poor kid. It sure isn’t easy being self-indulgent, self-centered and snobbish. It’s a helluva burden.

"I am looking at a format that will allow me to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling" I'm thinking CNN or MSNBC would be the ideal venue for her storytelling without being limited by the need to be truthful or report actual news.
