Well, what bothered me about it is that he didn’t just join GOProud because he was quietly asked. He stepped in at the very moment when CPAC was breaking down, leaders were being fired for destroying it, conservatives were staying away while Paulites and RINOs were taking advantage, and the whole conservative movement was being rocked.
That indicates to me that it was a very deliberate and conscious decision, not just some sort of casual mistake.
You make a good point.
I have a feeling the old axiom applies somehow: “Follow the money.”
There’s a reason it’s an old axiom.
Another possibility always gnaws at the back of my brain whenever a politician mysteriously casts a vote “against type” or resigns unexpectedly, especially when a “rising star” bails. Guys like Bill Gray, Joe Scarborough, Bill Paxon, John Ensign, ad infinitum. People don’t walk away from elected seats of power to “spend time with their families”. This is where the other old axiom comes into play” “Somebody’s got something on him.”
“Culture warrior” Andrew Breitbart’s support of GOProud went way against type and I agree that he should be watched carefully. Still, he seems to be doing a lot more goo than harm. His support for the ACORN expose bought him a lot of cred.
