Trump personally knows more intelligent, successful experts in a variety of fields than the effete, elite, "party bigwigs" could even name. This is one of Trump's strengths, not weaknesses.
If true, he should reveal them sooner, rather than later.

He hasn't even announced yet. I haven't heard one other potential candidate name anyone. You think Trump should be the only one? Trump has the stage all to himself because the other potential candidates don't have the courage to step up. He is calling the shots. He will do what he thinks best at the appropriate time and he won't be asking Rove for advice.
