Bashar Assad has launched all-out war on his people. Tanks firing artillery, APCs, infantry units, commandoes and snipers were deployed for the first time at daybreak Monday, April 25 in cities across Syria for the most brutal assault on any Arab anti-government protest in the four-month uprising. In the first few hours, hundreds are estimated to have been massacred (over and above the 350 shot dead in the last three days) and thousands injured. Denied medical attention, they are left in the streets to die. The military offensive to break the back of the uprising is led by his younger brother Maher Assad at the head of the Republican Guard and the 4th Division which is made up mostly of the Assad's Alawite clan.

Let’s tally Assad’s disadvantages:
1) Ally of Iran
2) Technically at war with Israel
3) Massive support to Hezbollah
4) Lesser support to Hamas
5) Owns / destabilizes Lebanon
6) Kills people on a massive scale in Lebanon
7) Harbors many terrorist organizations
8) Helps Al Qaeda fighters infiltrate Iraq to kill Americans
9) Kills its own people massively, Hama then, and everywhere now
10) Stiffs every American Secretary of State who comes a callin’
So tell me again, who would come to power in Syria that would be worse?
If its only muslims killing muslims, I can’t get too worked up over this. The brotherhood would no doubt be worse than Assad.
islamists killing islamists. Have at it!
That’s more than concerning to imagine happening. No wonder people are hunkering down...there isn’t an area of our lifes that will go untouched.
Where I work you can see the shock on peoples faces when they make a purchase which has esculated in cost beyond what they were prepared for. They walk away stunned and angry.
I think the reality of how all this is affecting peoples pocketbooks is just beginning to be felt...though warnings of price increases abound in our news...people are just not prepared when that reality hits them in the face.
He’ll accuse us of child abuse first. Works every time.
Imagine if Israelis treated Arabs the way their own governments do?
Where are human shields to protect the Syrian protesters?
Where are the loft denunciations from the EU, the World Court?
Where are the academic boycotts?
Don’t tell me they aren’t antisemites.
Boy, is that easy to answer: While Obamuzzie may very well harbor delusions of GRANDEUR commanding a group of our own military teaching those rich people a lesson it ain’t gonna happen. Our population is not the disarmed, miserable, un-motivated, hapless, inbred, barely literate bunch that inhabit the Arab 22. I know where my friends and I have somewhere north of 300 million firearms that would be used virtually instantly to keep Obamuzzie and his storm troopers in their tents. And remember this. Old dogs bite hard. There are far more ex-GI’s than there are active. The old guys know how stuff works. And every young GI knows better than to pick a fight with an old man. We fight quick, dirty, and for keeps.
Will Assad live his life out in wealth and comfort in CA or FL?
If you’re on the receiving end, who gives a $hit about technicalities?
Do you think the Muslim Brotherhood is using these protests to again attempt to seek control. They’ve been apparently trying to organize since about 2000 after being defeated in Hama.
IMO the uprisings are being used by any side who desires to take down Assad... and more than likely the Muslim Brotherhood very active and involved. Thus Syria will be brutal in keeping them out of power...even if it means thousands of civilians may die in the cross fire.
And he will have the full support of the mainstream propaganda ministry as he protects his people from the untermensch that cling to religion and guns.
Just as in Libya and other areas of unrest the Muslim Brotherhood is active and involved in Syrias uprising. I have no doubt of this. There is an Iranian push throughout the ME. to upend the leadership and using the protestors of these nations to that desired end.. How successful this will be remains to be seen but there is no doubt more than the protestors are fueling this fire storm thru the Middle East.
I certainly hope you’re right! But if it went so far as the public firing then what? I don’t underestimate the Democrates heavy-handedness or the tactics they would use.
Well that’s comforting...and i suspect it is far from happening as well...still I don’t underestimate the extent Bo will go to have his way.
It was said to me...”The only reason no other nation has invaded the US is because they all know we are individually armed.” I find some degree of comfort in that statement...but then when one thinks of Bo and the game he plays...I am not so secure in my thinking.
Dan Quayle was given a card with the “correct” spelling of the word potato. The error was on the card. It could have been coincidence, it could have been a setup. How many people are so certain of the spelling of the word potato that they would disbelieve a card that they are told with certainty is the correct spelling of the word potatoe?
Are you going to spellcheck the cards in advance to make sure nobody is handing you an incorrect spelling? It would have been a good idea, because he might have been our next president at that time, rather than Bill Clinton. But I’m sure he trusted the people who were handling him at the time.
Maybe we can go through all of your previous posts and find one misspelling, then start a thread about how you misspelled such an easy word.
In the same position, I can’t say I would have noticed the spelling error on the card, and I pride myself on my extensive vocabulary, superior linguistic capability, and impeccable spelling. So cut Mr. Quayle some slack. Don’t help the leftist media to defame our people.
