I'm not a Trump booster, and I'm not a Trump basher. I like what he's doing on the Birth Certificate issue; but he's pretty low on my list of people I want to see as president.

A disturbing pattern I've been seeing is that when someone speaks out against him, Trump often seems to respond with: "Look, I'm a lot smarter than you."

I consider that to be a poor strategy for just about anyone -- certainly a bad strategy for people in politics.

Oh please, it’s about time somebody puts these celebritards in their place.

I agree. It is not presidential, and certainly not diplomatic to directly call someone stupid. A statesman would do it much more delicately. You know, something like saying:

When it comes to knowledge of political affairs, Robert DeNiro is a fine actor.

Democrats did that to Reagan and Bush...

It’s a political axiom that you cannot let stand negative comments against you that might gain traction. It’s exactly what Bush-41 refused to do, to his own detriment.

Trump is actually handling each attack against him on its own merit, or lack of same from his perspective. He’s fought back publicly against Rove, Seinfeld and now DeNiro.
On the other hand, Trump personally called Krauthammer to make his case.

No amount of persuasion would change the thinking (such as it is) with the 2 entertainers. They and their fellow celebrities are on notice that they can say what they will, but their comments will not go unchallenged.

On the other hand, Krauthammer is intelligent enough to at least reconsider when a rational argument is put before him. Trump showed respect for Krauthammer. Why would he show respect for the others? After all, DeNiro is NOT the brightest bulb.

I never really cared for The Donald, but I LOVE the way he responds to critics. So refreshing to see someone hit back.

Good point, but in this case Trump clearly is brighter than Deniro.

Is it my imagination or is Deniro looking more like Maher?

The photos on this thread show DeNiro's allegiance to democrats. In today's world, democrats equate to socialism, communism, corrupt unions, judiciary, sky high taxes, food and fuel costs, racism (Eric Holder style) and the disintigration of our financial system. Democrats are intent upon spending more and increasing our national debt. What about that is intelligent?.

From the photos on this thread:

Al Gore talks with actor and festival founder Robert De Niro on the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

Robert De Niro, Mel Brooks, and Bruce Springsteen with the obamas at the Kennedy Center...
