I hereby dub this aircraft “The Chinese Widowmaker”.

I dub this aircraft the “free trade” dragon.

I am shocked, shocked I tell you at the disrespect you show the CHICOM aircraft industry! They leave no stone unturned in coming up with advanced features for their wizard new aircraft. Take 1 from country column A, add three from country column B, Don't forget that on Thursday nights only, you also get a bonus pick from country column D! Wrap it all together with the avionics package gifted to them by Billy Clinton in exchange for untold sums.
Pretty darned impressive, I'd say. I notice that they are including the maneuvering brake/golf club compartment behind the cockpit (that's the thing covered with the Dollar Store All Purpose Handy-Dandy Camo tarp and shock cord outfit. Made in China)
These advanced aircraft also serve a demographic purpose. There are so many more single men than women in CHICOMLand that anything that can be done to cut the number of single men is a good thing. You are correct ... it is a widow maker. This astounding technological development gives so many more wonderful Chinese girls the chance to at least become widows, rather than remain old maids.

Hey, does this baby remind you of a scaled down B-70 Valkyrie?

Hey, does this baby remind you of a scaled down B-70 Valkyrie? A bit, yes. It'll be most impressive when they slam into the Pacific Ocean at Mach 1.5.

Must admit I had my doubts. I thought this was vaporware.

As you apparently already know these will be little more than targets against any US force.
ALL we have to do is keep our AMRAAM production up.

What is it looking at everything around you in the news and the world, that makes you scoff at Chinese manufacturing abilities?
And are you contributing to those abilities, through support of misnamed “free trade”?
To: Lurker
Do not underestimate the Chinese, friend. They are smart, actually smarter than the White Man on an average, MUCH harder working, and they pose a serious threat.

Will be a hoot to watch these copycats try to learn carrier landing. You oughta be able to see the fireball from Hawaii.
We learned it apparently better than anyone else by starting out on slow recip aircraft, not Mach 1.5 hugeass things. They can not copy experience and training. I don’t think its in their genes.

To some degree you are right. Don't jack with them where they can walk or drive to you, getting that hoard overseas is a whole nuther story.
At some point they will self-distruct just like the other china dynasties.

Any specs? Looks way bigger than a Tomcat and that was pushing carrier architecture at the time.

Darn, I forget. Have they copied our nukes too? They still go boom, don’t they?
