Rev. Graham on the 2012 GOP field: Trump may be right
The Hill ^ | April 24, 2011 | Jamie Klatell

Rev. Franklin Graham, who took over his father Billy Graham's ministry, said he has looked at the field of potential candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination and thinks Donald Trump might be the one.

"Donald Trump, when I first saw that he was getting in, I thought, 'Well, this has got to be a joke,'" Graham said on ABC's "This Week." "But the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, "You know, maybe the guy's right."

THis is probably a re-post. You should check first.

Past that, this guy is worse than Guiliani or Romney, and is no conservative. Love him at your own risk as he makes Scott Brown look like a conservative. You remember how that bit of adoration ended up, eh?

Thank you Franklin. Chalk up another one to common sense rather than rapid foaming at the mouth demagoguery. The very ones criticizing Trump on FR now will be the ones lapping up his bath water with “Day in the Life” threads if he’s elected. I remember when Bush was a coke head on FR before he was the nominee; then he was Messianic and could walk on water or you got the zot! The idolatry and worshipful overtones was as zealous as anything by Zero’s supporters.

Sheep.

Franklin Graham is misguided if he thinks Donald Trump is the best choice for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.I have doubts that Trump will even run. Graham's remarks about Mitt Romney "having been tested" demonstrate a lack of understanding of major Romney problems such as the Massachusetts 'RomneyCare' debacle. I hope Franklin Graham is wrong about Sarah Palin's intentions. Considering Graham's approval of Trump and Romney, he doesn't appear to know what he's talking about.

He was also negative on Sarah Palin’s running. He seemed to think she wasn’t.

I thought, 'Well, this has got to be a joke,'"

Well, this is what I thought, not about Trump, but about Graham. How could he? Never mind. Like father, not like son!

So, Trump is not a Conservative. Maybe we need to bring back a “real” Conservative like George W. so he could finish what he and the GOP House and Senate started.....spending us into friggin’ oblivion.

Other than Sarah Palin who do we have? The turn-coat Rick Santorum who sold out Pat Toomey for the slimey Arlen Specter? The opportunistic “I’ll be everything to everybody Mike Huckabee”? Newt Gingrich with more baggage than a Greyhound bus? Mitt Romney who would spend 90% of his campaign time defending his Massachusetts Health Care Plan? “Mr. Twangy” Haley Barbour whose Redneck accent would turn off 3/4 of America?

Give me a break. Can I stop now?

The big difference in my mind between all those you mentioned and TRUMP is that he is a superb BUSINESSMAN. He creates JOBS and he knows what it takes to jump start an economy from actual experience. I don't give a damn that he has given $$$ to both parties. That's just good business. He doesn't like Soros and that's a good thing. He's not in bed with commie china and THAT TOO is a good thing. He is in favor of putting America as #1 and we need that too. Lord knows it's not been getting done since 2006 when the RATS first took over the Congress. In a perfect world, yeah having a true blue "conservative" is nice, but unless we had that plus a veto proof/filibuster proof Congress it doesn't mean a hoot anyway. He is smart. Scary smart. Waaaay to smart to let the RATS or any foreign entity run roughshod over him. He knows what has to be done to get us back on course. My only concern is his stance on the 2nd Amendment. If he's pro-gun and can prove he'll act that way, I think he's got my vote. He is a fresh face that is deadly serious. I want Sarah Palin as Secretary of Energy.

With all due respect to you, I doubt it.

There are a lot of anti-trump trolls on FR.

Keep in mind the trolls are terrified Trump will be elected.

They just want you to think he is unelectable.

This level of ignorance speaks for itself. Its not a shock you are a sucker for what Trump is peddling.

I remember this argument. In supporting Guiliani, perhaps not from you.. but it was bad then, and worse now. If the guy gives freely to folks like Clinton and Dead Fish, he is just as likely to appoint these dimwits. He is a RINO in name only. And, he discovered Pro-life I think last week, as he was sitting on this toilet. Don't be a sucker.

The big difference in my mind between all those you mentioned and TRUMP is that he is a superb BUSINESSMAN.

Ask his wives if he can keep a promise.

He doesn't like Soros and that's a good thing.

Except, he was bailed out big time by Soros only a few years ago. Oops.. if you say anything, sometimes people believe it.. Remember the guy who was going to solve the racial and partisan rifts in the US? BHO?

He's not in bed with commie china and THAT TOO is a good thing.

And you know this how?

He is in favor of putting America as #1 and we need that too.

Perhaps, but how can you trust a single thing that comes out of this mouth????

. He is smart. Scary smart. Waaaay to smart to let the RATS or any foreign entity run roughshod over him. BHO was supposed to be smart too. IT seems to me the press has a hard time getting this assessment correct.

Please spare me. I know it is fun to wish that there could be someone good that the Press wouldn't destroy, but if they were good, the press would try to destroy them.

Trump has only one real aspect of the moment and that is that he is willing to say the guy who would be Emperor has no clothes and all appreciate that.. just as we appreciated Scott Brown, truly. But when this appreciation turned into stupid adulation, folks got their hearts broken and this guy will do you that way too.

So true..this place is RIDDLED with FAKE Freepers dispatched here to run down Trump constantly with true believer type passion and “conservative” zeal.

One thing about the left you can 100% count on is their rank dishonesty at every turn.

They are all over Free Republic...and they are faking LIARS that are relentlessly trying to undermine any perceived threats to the Fraud.

Trump, with his unfiltered, “I don’t care what you think, this thing is fishy, and I’m looking into it” attitude, absolutely FREAKS them out.

Trump is right—he is Obama’s worst nightmare!

There are a lot of anti-trump trolls on FR.

Don't be surprised if you find out that JR is one of them. As are anyone who has a brain, remembers past yesterday, and is not a complete sucker.

Trump is doing great things, but he is not and never will be a Conservative. He owes Soros for saving him, and he has given more money to Democrats and Democrat causes over time because in large he agrees with many of their beliefs. He is saying pretty things now that appeal to Conservatives but where is even 5 minutes of history actually doing this, rather than playing at saying the things folks want to desperately hear.

Its a shame. I am glad he is out there swinging away, but I know better than give him more than my admiration for waking some folks up, even as I am suspicious about why he feels safe doing this.
