WASHINGTON - Michael Ashner was one of Sen. John McCain's major fundraisers in the 2008 presidential campaign, bringing in $500,000 for the Republican nominee.
That makes the Oyster Bay, N.Y., real estate investment executive one of the most sought-after bundlers for prospective GOP candidates in 2012. Supporters of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have been particularly persistent in wooing him -- New York Jets owner Woody Johnson even invited him to take in a football game in his private box.
But Ashner is reluctant to sign up with any of the White House hopefuls.
"I'm sort of hiding under my desk when the calls come in," said Ashner, noting that he still wants to learn more about the contenders. "I don't see a dynamic candidate out there yet. A number of them have interesting credentials, but they just strike me as a little lackluster."
[...]
"I think many people feel the field is not yet complete and are holding back a bit to see how it develops before they make commitments," said Fred Malek, who was a national finance co-chairman for McCain.
"The prospective candidates themselves are taking much longer to reach a decision point, and therefore it would be expected that major donors would be holding back as well."

Hmmmm....wonder what they’re waiting for...LOL.
Jeb Bush. Super RINO! That is what.
Little GOP donors, too.
I’m sure this article is spot on about the hopes of the GOP ever being able to raise any money this year what with none of the potential candidates having nearly as much charisma as McCain!!! Sarcasm off.
We all know who she is!
Yeah, like me! Only way to avoid RINOs is to not support them.
Good grief. They complain because Hussein announced his run so early and now they’ve turned it completely around getting all snippy with the GOP. Fair and balanced?
Starve these weasels out until they start acting like a second party. Help vote them out if they don’t. If you’re going to donate money, give it to a group that won’t turn around and stab you in the back time after time.
lackluster is the primary word here..
and if Republcans aren’t careful Obama will be reelected (with an Republicans increased margin in the house-even of this last year and with takeover of the Senate).
Just my 2

What the heck do they expect? They trot out a bunch of has-beens and squishy politically correct never-wases-who-wannabe, and then want us to fork over money to them? So far, the only one out there who seems to have the courage to speak some of the truth is Donald Trump, and I would really rather he not be the Republican candidate, for a number of reasons, including the fact that he’s not even conservative. I dread the thought, but the way the Pubbies are going, we’re going to have four more years of the commie phony.
They’re waiting to decide if they really want to be in charge when the collapse of the US economy occurs.
Or let the Dems take the fall.
So who is Ashner fronting for and what do they want?
How successful has DimBO been is his fund raising over the last month? I know a group paid $76,000 to get in one to sing the praises of a traitor to a traitor. but, are these people really dumb enough to know they are not throwing their money down a RAT hole.
I haven't heard Trump speak the truth about the budget and government spending.
Read carefully. I said “some of the truth.” No, I do not trust Trump. I’m enjoying watching him stick it to the libs, though. Certainly few Republicans are willing to ask the simple question, “Where’s the birth certificate?”
Yeah, they’re afraid that if they commit to some RINO loser now, they’ll be losing their money when Sarah finally announces and overwhelms the establishment.
