A transgender woman beaten at a Baltimore County McDonald's spoke out on Saturday, saying that the attack was "definitely a hate crime" and that she's been afraid to go out in public ever since.
"They said, 'That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom,' " said Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, who said she stopped at the Rosedale restaurant to use the restroom. "They spit in my face."
A worker at the restaurant taped Monday's attack and created a graphic video that went viral last week. After the video garnered hundreds of thousands of views on websites, McDonald's issued a statement condemning the incident, and on Saturday the worker who taped the incident was fired.
The video shows two females — one of them a 14-year-old girl — repeatedly kicking and punching Polis in the head as an employee and a patron try to intervene. Others can be heard laughing, and men are seen standing idly by.
....Her twin brother, Matty Polis, who also lives in Baltimore, said it's been painful to watch her have to endure these sorts of attacks.
"My sister has gotten this her entire life," Matty Polis said. "Being the way she is, she's always had a hard time."
Polis, who was raised by her grandmother in Dundalk and Essex, graduated from Chesapeake High and hasn't had a job or stable place to stay for the past two years, according to her mother, Angela Thomas.
Polis, who is white, believes race may have also been a factor in her attack— both the assailants were black, according to the police report.
Equality Maryland has called on state Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler to step in and investigate the case as a hate crime.

I’ve seen guys stumble into the wrong restroom and get screamed at but beat up? That’s a bit deep.
Regardless of what’s right or wrong, sometimes discretion is the greater part of valor. IOW, watch where you go to heed nature’s call.
I think it’s tough cause I don’t want a man with manufactured girl parts squating over a urinal in front of my sons. I figure the person might have an identity crisis and be attracted to little boys enough to be surgically changed. Let thus person go to the womans room since they think they are a woman and want attention from men.
Two Wrongs will never make a Right (Correct, Proper). In this situation we have two “Rights” in competition in the Press.
One is the “Right” to say, “I’m Black and the victim of hundreds of years of White oppression therefore I can do ANYTHING I want to ‘Whitey’.
The other is the fairly recent “Right” to do whatever I want in my quest to “Explore my Sexuality”.
Both are wrong.

Liberals and our government are partly to blame by pretending that homosexuality is normal.
And the restrooms... We should have unisex restrooms or 4 restroom types: Male, female, homosexual, lesbian. Why? Well, why do we now have two types? Because women don't like men gawking at them when they're trying straighten out their bras and pantyhose, etc. Well, as a normal male I don't like homos gawking at me either, so I should have the same protection. I don't really expect businesses to have to build 2 new restrooms everywhere, but it just shows the problems that are created when people pretend things to be true that aren't true.
Other examples: Pretending that blacks aren't people (slavery). Pretending that Jews aren't people (holocaust). Pretending that preborns aren't people (abortion).
That doesn’t surprise me. People frequently refer to transsexuals as “she”, even when knowing they’re transsexuals. It just shows how convoluted this is.
It was not a man dressed as a woman. It was a man transformed surgically into a woman. I don’t want that person in the men’s room looking at my sons while peeing sitting on the trough.
Dose not make any difference what she was, even a bull dike, you do not endorse beating the hell out of someone.
There is an extremely high rate of HIV infection in Baltimore’s black gay community. Do you think these two black women would have beaten Chrissy Lee Polis if her skin had been black? Now be honest.

The most disturbing part for me is for a 14 year old “girl” to be this vicious.
Her next victim will likely end up a corpse.
Hopefully she'll land in prison and learn that she isn't "all that and a bag of chips" after all.

I find the intolerance exhibited by many freepers to be disgusting. Claiming to be a conservative and supporting the beatdown of another citizen is simply wrong.
How different is it to hate someone to the point of violence because of their skin color or because of sexual self-image? Are handicapped people, those overweight or Muslims next?
And just what bathroom was he/she supposed to use?
Dressed as a woman, wouldn't he be out of place in the men's restroom?
