Palestinian Authority Police Kill Israeli near Joseph's Tomb
Palestinian Authority police Sunday morning shot and killed one Israeli and wounded five others after they prayed at Joseph's Tomb (Kever Yosef) around 6 a.m. Sunday (11 p.m. Saturday night EDT).
One of the wounded is in serious condition, and Army helicopters evacuated the injured to a hospital for emergency care. A group of 15 worshippers from the Breslov Chassidic sect had driven to the site and were returning when they were gunned down by Pal police in a jeep.
The PA security forces continued to fire at the cars as they fled.
The IDF hurriedly issued a statement that the trip to Kever Yosef was not coordinated with Israeli security forces.
Kever Yosef is a Jewish holy site that was supposed to be under Israeli control and open to worshippers as stated in previous agreements. However, the government has surrendered the area to Palestinian Authority control, and local Arabs have desecrated it several times.
The Breslov group was known to Palestinian Authority authorities as people who frequently prayed at Kever Yosef without any other intentions, according to Gershon Mesika, chairman of the Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council. He called the shooting attack a “massacre at close range.
National Union Knesset Member Dr. Michael Ben-Ari indirectly blamed the American government for having “trained and armed the enemy army that is called the ‘Palestinian Authority police’ and is directly responsible for the murder at Kever Yosef.”

The tomb of the biblical Joseph is the very same tomb the "Palestinians desecrated and destroyed on a number of occasions. When they are not busy butchering babies in their sleep, they do this- and we pay for it.

This is a pure war crime and act of “religious cleansing” by the Palestines.

I was sympathetic until the blame went to America for weapons and training. This is an American conservative site and not an Israeli conservative site, right? How much money, training, and weapons have we supplied to the Israelis? Come on.

The “Palestinians” do not.
The US does not train the Israelis. If anything, the Israelis come here to train us- especially in counter terrorism technique, security, and high technology.
Also, of all loans that have been given to Israel, over 80% is spent on US military goods- that is the agreement. That money comes back to us in purchases. Additionally, Israel is one of the only nations ever to pay back every loan back to the USA- in full and on time.
Israel also supplies the US with technology and high tech military equipment the US needs. They even make bullets for the USA.
The “Palestinians” do not repay loans. The money is GIVEN to them. The US is still over there now training them and supplying them.
That is a huge difference.
Not nearly enough! When the Isrealis start using that aid to indiscriminately fire missles at housing developments and shoot anti-tank missles at school busses or killing arab families in their sleep, get right back to us.

That’s a difference in quality, which I’ll accept on the face of what you’re saying as true now (regardless of whether it really is), though not always the case. It’s not the difference in quantity another poster disputed, and it’s not the point of what I said in addressing the Israeli quoted at the end of the article. Palestinians shot at those Jews praying, not America. If they used American supplied weapons, that needs to be considered. But I can’t take the quoted Israeli seriously on what else he might have to say anymore, nor anyone who agrees with him or tolerates his statement.
Put the blame where it belongs - on the Palestinian Authority. For all I know, if America hadn’t supported the PA, it would have been supported by Iran or rich Wahhabi extremists from Saudi Arabia, and America was doing Israel the favor of making sure that didn’t happen, for all the good it did, apparently.
This is about the Palestinian Authority, not Gaza terrorists firing rockets at innocent Israelis, nor West Bank criminals.
You don’t have to believe me. Look it up for yourself- all of this info is available on the web and on US government sites.
As for the weaponry- you can find that on the web as well. The US is training them and supplying them. That is a fact.

His statement is absolutely correct, and he has every right to be greatly angered. We are supposed to be allies.
The US knows exactly what the “Palestinians” are doing and why.
This is not exactly their debut at this. It has been going on long before Israel was reborn as “Israel”. Ever hear about the 1929 arab riots? The Jordanian invasion and the butchering and removal of the Jewish families in east Jerusalem? The burning of the Temples. The usage of Jewish gravestones to pave the roads for their tanks and latrines.
That was NOT “Palestinian” land. It was Jewish. In fact, it was Arafat, an Egyptian national, educated and sponsored by the Soviets, in the early 70’s that coined the term “Palestinian” in what has to be the biggest ID fraud in the recorded human history.

Thanks for the information. I neither disbelieve you nor believe you. It’s interesting, but it doesn’t address his statement. America is not directly responsible for PA police shooting at Israelis praying. That his statement is not offensive to you and that you agree with him, I don’t know. Are you an American? Do you have dual citizenships?
I have heard of the riots, and I have heard of what the Jordanians did.

Are we still talking about 21st and 20th Century? What was the British mandate called when rulership was taken from the Turks? Where does the word Philistine in the Bible come from? There have been people there who weren’t Jews for a very long time, including many Christians from the time of Jesus to the present day. What do you want to call them? Not all of them were Arabs. There are still even actual Samaritans. Claims have been made that most of today’s Palestinians are actually converts from the Samaritan religion, which differs from Judaism in the location of their temple. This is all getting a bit far from an irresponsible statement made by an Israeli politician over a Jewish tragedy.
How many weapons has the US government supplied to the Mexican drug cartels to kill Americans? All the reports say thousands, and they have been used to kill Americans, so the US government is responsible for all deaths from those weapons.
In Libya the US government is not only supplying the rebels, but flying combat air cover for them. This while McCain’s heroes are gaily murdering, mutilating, and raping many Black Africans.
So yes, in a word, America is arming some very bad people, who do some very bad things with those arms.

I agree with this statement, if not all that preceded it. I don’t agree with the Israeli politician’s statement, nor anyone who supports that view. It would be wise to review support of the PA after this incident.
It would be unwise for Israeli politicians to claim that America somehow shot at praying Israelis, and for Americans in more than just name to support those claims.

Whoa - Israel defending itself does NOT compare to the actions of these Palestinians. Do you acknowledge the difference?
If it wasn’t already clear in all I’ve written on this thread, I acknowledge the difference.
Do you acknowledge that the Israeli made an irresponsible statement and that it is beyond foolish for an American to agree, support, or promote? He was considered too racist, with too many connections to Jewish terrorists to be let into this country, I found in checking around some of the links provided to me.
