John Lund, Obamas overseer of union financial reporting and disclosure at DOLs Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS).
This Obama appointee is a former director of the now-defunct Pacific Northwest Labor College, a former SEIU union employee , a fomer IUOE union employee, and former director of the University of Wisconsin School for Workers. Lunds appointment means that he is now in charge of investigating financial mismanagement and irregularities by the very labor union officials he has trained for decades.
Even though Obama campaigned on transparency and a focus on ethics, cronies at DOL focused on eliminating basic financial union disclosure and union officials conflict-of-interest disclosures requirements.
At DOL, John Lund cut the number of labor union investigators, rescinded disclosure of union officer benefits, eliminated financial reporting for unions like the Wisconsin Education Association Council, and eliminated conflict-of-interest reporting for thousands of union officials. Each of these actions benefits Big Labor Bosses, but undercuts those forced to pay union dues and fees as a condition of employment.
The AFL-CIO and other unions are former clients of John Lund , and these unions remain clients of his former and current employer, the University of Wisconsin School for Workers (Lund is currently on unpaid leave while at DOL). The Wisconsin School for Workers primary mission is to train union officials; the very officials that Lund now purportedly investigates for corruption.

This would be like Bush nominating a former oil executive to oversee safety in the drilling industry.
But Obama is a liberal and their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Mr. Pott ... MEET Mr. Kettle!!
Every member of Congress is guilty of either
creating this FRAUD UPON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
or guilty of misprision of a felony.
Every member of Congress is responsible for what has
happened, and what is happening.
I am shocked, shocked I tell you, to find corruption in the unions.
This is from “The Onion” right?
Bump.
It’s like having the elephant in charge of investigating who stole the peanuts !!!
“Former SEIU Official Appointed by Obama to Investigate Union Corruption”
HAAHAHAHAHAHA! Too!Funny! Who did they really appoint? Oh....
Perhaps this accounts for the recent run on whitewash.
And please meet the new HHS surgeon general
Dr. Mengele
Some sixty years ago the great author John Dos Passos wrote the novel “Midcentury”, a scathing indictment of the corrupt labor movement of the time. By then Dos Passos had made the voyage from Marxist to a writer of reason, and his book was a shock to his old leftwing pals who were still carrying water for a labor movement that was out of control.
Who knows? Perhaps history will repeat itself, although I am cynic enough to doubt it.
This, of course, will remind us of when Blagojevich tried to sell the Illinois Senate seat and the White House appeared to have been involved. Obama instructed Obamas staff to investigate Obamas staff and they determined that Obamas staff was not implicated, which was clear proof of innocence to the mainstream media.
'Former SEIU Official Appointed by Obama to Investigate Union Corruption'
Okay no FLAMES please. But I'm 'series' this does make some sense. To wit:
It all became very clear and then made all the sense in the world. When I was a young whippersnapper and learning all my Management 'stuff' in Commercial Construction, the place I worked did some of the oddest things. As in promoting complete slugs to be Job-Site Foreman (not Superintendents).
And when I asked one the best Superintendents the Co had that I was working with -- who was also the meanest sob walking a job-site if he didn't know you really really good -- Why?
His answer made all the sense in the world: 'Who knows better on how to catch a guy goofing off, or hiding out on the 22nd Floor, than a person --Who Used To Do It!
However that answer did give me some pause, as I was was getting promoted faster than Superman could change clothes :-)
LOL!
True in the real world, but in DC? Not!
Not necessarily. More like the fox in the henhouse.
I think it's more likely that information will be used to advise the union management what evidence needs to be destroyed and what records need to be sanitized before someone else finds it than to be used for prosecution.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
