Donald Trump, fresh from a Gallup poll showing him tied with former Gov. Mike Huckabee for the lead in the Republican race for the White House, is firing back at GOP strategist Karl Rove for calling Trump a "joke candidate."
Trump, who says that Rove has proven himself to be out of touch with Americans, released the following statement to Newsmax:
"Karl Rove is a loser. He is doing the Republican Party a great disservice by trying to stop the discussion about the president not being able to present his birth certificate to the American people – or to assure the American people as to his place of birth. This is a great issue for Republicans, and I can tell you that the president is spending millions of dollars fighting this issue and he doesn't like it at all.
"I also have great respect for the states considering legislation that would require a birth certificate, not a certificate of live birth, be mandatory in order for a candidate to appear on a presidential ballot in their state.
"Karl Rove should go into retirement where he belongs. The old machinery is broken, and new and much smarter blood is needed."

I never thought much of Trump but my opinion of him is growing nicely to say the least. And he is right, Toyko Rove needs to go away forever.

I heard him on Hannity’s radio show yesterday (Thursday) talking about this and it was all I could do to not toss the radio out the window when he said the Constitution only required citizenship for the Presidency.
I’m obviously not quoting exactly, and I have slept since I heard it, but his comment was just SO WRONG.
