INDIANAPOLIS -- Two friends from southern Indiana will each take home about $40 million after claiming a winning Powerball ticket worth $221.7 million.
Todd Reardon, 38, of Jeffersonville, and Darin Fox, 32, of Clarksville, said they've played the lottery together every week for at least three years.

Sounds like a good retirement to me...... I know I cringe when people win the lottery then say I want to get me a ( )...But I'll forgive these two because I doubt they've ever walked into a shop and said...Where Can I get me a Huntin license! LOL

Just for fun, what would you do? I would buy a place in the country. A big, old farmhouse with a lot of land so I could garden to my heart’s content. My “luxury” item would be a pick up truck (something to haul around the seeds etc...)

You give me that amount of money, and I'm buying a
county. Of my own. And you'll find my deceased carcass right where I want it to be found - propped up against a tree by my trout creek, with a pole in my hand, and a flask in my pocket. Just bury me on the spot and mark it with a rock, so my dogs will know where to pay their respects and lift a leg on me.

And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I would buy a big boat and sail/fish around the Bahamas for a while working on my tan...(make sure to be armed to the teeth if I’m sailing anywhere near Mexico or Somalia)...Senorita’s and Margaritas!! LOL.... But help some sick family members...start some small buisnesses...Put up a Million dollar reward for Obama’s Birth Cerificate...hahaha just generally get in trouble...

My wife and I have been saving for a while, and we've pretty much narrowed down what we're going to build:

Sounds wonderful! I have heard that goats are good with kids as well. (kids being children).

I would be spending every last penny of my $40,000,000 undermining the thieves that took the $140,000,000!

How is the ticket “worth” $221 Million if two people split it and get $40 million each. Seems to me it’s worth $80 million.
Only the government could get away with that type of advertising, and only the media would midlessly go along with it.

I am wondering if they picked the immediate pay out over the 20 year payout. Plus, take close to half as taxes.... I could still live with 40 million. Quite nicely.

I wish I were wealthy enough so that I didn't need to own anything more than the clothes on my back.
Think about it.

The 221 Million is if you take the yearly payments.
They have a cash option which is roughly 1/2.
Split between two people, then take
24% federal tax
whatever Indiana’s tax is
Local tax
From each.
