As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, the liberal website Wonkette published a truly disgraceful piece earlier in the week about Sarah Palin's Down's syndrome son Trig.
Under intense pressure from readers and advertisers, the site's editor took the post down Thursday:
A post on this page satirizing Sarah Palin using her baby as a political prop was very badly done and sounded like the author was mocking the child and not just Sarah Palin/Sarah Palin’s followers.
The writer, Jack Stuef, has apologized for it. And we have decided to remove the post as requested by some people who have nothing to do with Sarah Palin, but who do have an interest in the cause of special needs children. We apologize for the poor comedic judgment.
After our article and others from conservative as well as liberal websites expressed outrage for the now deleted post, pressure was put on Wonkette editor Ken Layne by some unlikely sources including Mediaite's Tommy Christopher and Slate's David Weigel.
When Layne unrelented, companies such as Papa John's Pizza, Huggies, Nordstrom, and others cancelled their ads.

I took a quick peek at the site out of curiousity and felt nothing but RAGE. No, thanks.
Papa John’s Pizza advertises there... their pizza always sucked anyway...

And they flock to the DemocRAT party like flies to horse dung.
They pulled their ads as soon as they heard about the Trig post.
WHY did they have SO MANY GOOD AVERTISERS inthe first place???
Conservatives need to remember that rule also. In 2009, Free Republic had these comments on its website about Obama's daughters: "A typical street whore." "A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion." Civility is a foundation stone of civilization.

If Sarah Palin is the GOP presidential nominee the tsunami of hate will be breath taking.
Herman Cain made a statement about this today on his Facebook:
“Glad to see that Wonkette has removed the incredibly hurtful and offensive post about Governor Palin’s son, Trig. Also glad to see there are many companies who are good stewards and have removed their advertisements from the site. Governor Palin has many friends, including me, from both sides of the aisle who will stand with her to protect all children.”
We both thought it was the best and I mean BEST pizza we've had in years.
Man it was so good.
So I guess to each, his or her own taste. Hsb and self are now fans of papa john's.
