Why L.A. Hates Presidential Visits

Obama is attending a fundraiser on the West Side today -- and millions of people will spend two extra hours in their cars as a result

President Obama is scheduled to land at LAX at about 2:45 P.M. Thursday. He then has to get to the Sony lot for a 4:30 fund-raising appearance, then up to Tavern in Brentwood for dinner and another fundraiser. He's staying overnight in the L.A. area -- they don't announce where, but at least some of the previous overnights have been at the Beverly Hilton. The city is advising that the traffic impacts should extend from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

My colleagues in Washington, D.C,, are accustomed to local traffic being disrupted now and again for presidential motorcades. It's a price of living in the nation's capital, and there's always the chance that POTUS is on important business. But I can't help but being miffed at news that Obama is going to disrupt life for millions of Angelenos today so he can raise campaign money. And I'm not alone.

No, there are millions of you whiny obama voters here, and it's hysterically funny watching and hearing you whine about your idol's visit.

He was up here in Palo Alto yesterday, apparently a big traffic mess around noon. Glad I got lunch in the cafeteria.

Because he speaks English and no one else in L.A. does?

Obama is going to disrupt life for millions of Angelenos

Including millions of Catholics and other Christians who had been planning on attending Holy Week worship this evening and tomorrow. The timing certainly is interesting.

You ever think that blacks in the inner-cities ever realize they were duped?

Here is Obama raising money with white liberal celebrities and power-brokers.

There's gotta be a black asking, "Why doesn't Obama ever come to the 'hood?" Obama isn't visiting Compton, Watts, or E. LA. He's visiting all the rich elitists out in the Hills.

At $5.00 per gallon for gas, that is an expensive traffic disruption!

Why L.A. Hates Presidential Visits

Because it interrupts the politicians drug dealing and trafficking in illegals?

Yes. Holy Thursday. Probably Obama thinks of his attendance at the fundraising dinner tonight in terms of the Last Supper.

Or, at least, he would if he wasn’t a Muslim.

Miffed? I'm positively ecstatic!

I'm glad you brought this up. This is what galls me. It is HOLY WEEK, which doesn't even register on Barry Soetoro's radar. There are a great number of Catholic churches in the areas impacted by his campaign fund-raising visit, including a large one directly across the street from Sony. Just at the time the Holy Triduum begins, masses will be droned out by the thunder of overhead helos for the parishioners who manage to get to the church via detours.

In addition, he does not leave (from Beverly Hills) until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Good Friday, also while holy services are being conducted.

I could go on, but you get the idea and the symbolism is exactly right that THIS president would launch an unintentional attack on the Faith.

I was hoping he’d catch a Dodger game,........if you get my drift, and I believe you do!! By the way, during his last speech those crazy scars on the back of the Royal Head were extremely obvious! Brain surgery??????????????? I mean, I may have a freaking looking head but this guy looks like Dr. Frankenstein operated on him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m ecstatic too, on behalf of the liberals’ annoyance but also note that this is Holy Week and masses will be conducted under duress.

I live literally across the street from the Sony lot. I wouldn’t even bother walking over to give him the bird.
