Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson announced today that he's running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
"I'm ready for a different America," Johnson said in a statement today. "I'm ready for the day when a person can build a good life on a decent income, and we can take our government at its word."
Johnson announced his candidacy Thursday morning on the steps of the New Hampshire State House and plans to spend three days in the early-nominating state meeting with supporters and visiting local businesses.
Pure and simple.
I have no use for you, nor will I respond to your oozing lunacy.
You are totally a complete loss to our great society as there is absolutely no reasoning with you.
My you live the rest of your days in bliss and ingorance.
**************************************
So what? Do you think that people should have to feel the way that you do?
If she's not pregnant there is no reason to take a pill.
If she is pregnant, taking the pill will kill a child.
Perhaps you could use some basic biology courses. For someone who claims to have conceived so many children you seem to be a bit confused about how it works.
Do you think encouraging her to murder her baby is the answer.
Ask rape victims who’ve gotten pregnant. There’s case after case where the woman decided to have the baby and doesn’t regret it and there are cases where she was talked into an abortion and feels doubly violated.
Adding her murdering her own baby to having been raped is doing her no favors.
Exceptions are bad things to make laws on. The whole easy access to abortion started with just that mentality. Allowing it for *exceptions*.
Take it easy, please.
You’re making false arguments. Now you’re saying a woman who was raped and got pregnant will die if she doesn’t kill her child.
Also that any pregnancy that portends a lack of Gerber good times could be terminated. THere are plenty of non-Gerber good times - women who get pregnant and then are divorced right away, single women, women whose unborn babies may or most certainly have birth defects, and so on.
I’ve only had two children. About 10 miscarriages though, and when I was young and very stupid and ill informed with absolutely no good friend to give me good advice, had an abortion.
Which I bitterly regret to this day.
They’re killing the wrong person by aborting the baby of the rapist.
Ok, well here’s the problem. You keep adding on other ideas to what I’m saying to obscure my position.
How likely is that going to happen? Is there a group of theologians ready to take power in DC? No there isn’t.
I’m just saying, a woman should have the choice in the case of RAPE. That rapists seed will have iniquity, could potentially kill the mother in childbirth, destroy her financially and her future and her loved ones and potentially grow into a criminal. It’s like playing against someone with a loaded deck. Choice in the case of rape is all I’m saying. That doesn’t mean pro-abortion. It’s polyannish to think she’s going to glide through pregnancy, marry Mr. Right, and her rapists offsrping will turn into such and such minister of such and such church. I’m sure there are exceptions but I think in the case for rape, it’s something the woman should pray about.
I’d rather be a zealot, standing in defense of equal protection of the unalienable rights of all, than a lukewarm compromiser who has no problem helping those who butcher thousands of defenseless children every day hide behind euphemisms.
This should get interesting.

Oh it did get interesting. In ways that no one saw coming.
What a Thread!
Yes, howe\/er I don't think that one should be written off if a candidate is pro-choice. As I said, I do not want 0 get RE-ELECTED - but some of you -- IF OUR GUY IS PRO-CHOICE would\/ote 3rd party.
A 3rd party will help RE-ELECT 0 and MARXISTS in 2012. Myself, abortion is wrong, but RE-ELECTING 0 is \/ERY WRONG!!!
Are you freakin kidding me?
My wife was HIGH RISK for a baby with defects, are you so obtuse? Yet we kept trying to get pregnant. How could you conclude such a thing? Maybe your primary language is Russian, comrad.
Actions speak louder than words. How many times have you gotten pregnant even though you knew it could resort in a child with birth defects? You didn’t spin the wheel as far as we did so there’s your answer.
We got that way back up the thread. You have no problem with killing innocent, defenseless people for the crimes of others.
Every point you made can equally apply to a pregnancy not resulting from rape. The bottom line is you want a baby to be allowed to be killed merely because the circumstances of its conception were not ideal. But that argument can be applied to thousands and millions of other non-rape conceptions.
Case closed.
Again, In 2012 we need to put away our differences and get 0 out of OFFICE — or we might not ha\/e any debates!! 0 if he gets re-elected will make the USA into something that we won’t like!!
freedom for every one and every thing except one —
OK. You and your wife kept trying to get pregnant despite the risks.
But it’s NOT OK for a rape victime to be denied access to an abortion.
Are you listening to yourself? You are pro-choice.
But I knew that from post 102 where you commented on them degenerates having degenerates.
He said add ANOTHER problem. Legal alcohol causes enough problems already. Why add another one to the mix?
“Take it easy, please.”
All I have done is stand my ground while I have been accused of being pro abortion. Ripped apart.
I have stated my position multiple times and have stated frequently that we are on the same side of this argument.
What would you do?
Oh! I know! You would ‘take it easy.’
My ancestors ‘took it easy’ in 1776.
And ‘took it easy’ during the American Civil war.
My father ‘took it easy’ in WWII.
You want me to ‘take it easy’ while these egregious, spiteful fanatics accuse me of something I am, most certainly, NOT.
Hey!
Take it easy, trisham.
People have misscarriages all the time so I don’t really see what the difference is in taking a pill in the case of RAPE. We went through 3. 2 were bad, one sent us to the ER in great fear while we watched the staff bumble around. I never want to go through that experience again. My wife was wiped out from the past 2 pregnancies and in agony with the last one. And I would venture to say that women, and their husbands and family involved probably could not handle going through pregnancy which has serious health risks, the financial cost which is extremely high, and raising that person and seeing the rapists face reflected every day.
How do you feel about war and Scripture? Isn’t that killing? By the same logic, wouldn’t that mean you don’t support US military personnel?
Rape is an act of war. I think that’s pretty clear in the Scripture. And I think with the case of King David’s baby conceived in an adulterous affair dying, sheds some light on this argument.
