Mark Levin On ‘Airhead’ Donald Trump: ‘Does This Guy Sound Stupid Or What?’

by Matt Schneider | 1:44 pm, April 20th, 2011

The conservative claws are coming out for potential Republican candidate for President Donald Trump. Not only has Congresswoman Michele Bachmann declared the story with President Obama’s birth certificate is “over,” but now radio host Mark Levin is tearing Trump apart on his other favorite issues. Comparing Trump’s thinking to President Herbert Hoover, Levin does not mince words for the man he sarcastically refers to as “our new conservative hero.”

What prompted Levin’s outrage was Trump failing to defend Republican Congressman Paul Ryan’s budget. Levin played a clip of Trump on NBC vowing to always protect Medicare for senior citizens and saying “I think Paul Ryan is too far out front with this issue, I think he ought to sit back and relax.” When Trump instead suggests the budget problems could be fixed by taking on China and OPEC, Levin stops the clip and angrily yells “What the hell does that have to do with Medicare? Does this guy sound stupid or what?” Levin is outraged over Trump not having any idea about Medicare and demanded to know why “when Medicare is going to collapse Mr. Businessman” you want Paul Ryan to sit back and relax?

Levin was on fire as he provided a series of arguments to discredit nearly every perceived benefit of a Trump candidacy. Suggesting Trump’s proposal for a tariff on goods from China is as horrible of an idea as many of Trump’s other past positions, Levin said even if “all your supporters are going to give you a pass on every damn thing you’ve ever said or done” Levin will not be along for the ride. And in his final parting shot, since Trump repeatedly argues his success as a businessman would make him a great President, Levin humorously concludes, “if I follow your logic, Bill Gates ought to be President of the United States because he’s worth ten times what you are too, and yet when it comes to economics and government he’s an airhead just like you.”

What I like most about Trump flinging poop at propellers is that conservatives can honestly and truthfully tell liberals “Hey, he ain’t one of us. Don’t try to pin his opinions on us... he’s your boy. You know, pro-choice, pro-gun-control, pro-liberal this-n-that...”

Steve Wynn coming out today with an epic rant on Obama doubles down on this idea: Big left-of-center business types popping a fuse with the Obama administration. They make for useful allies at this point, because the Obama administration will be tied up trying to set up a circular firing squad to deal with them, while we can get our own ducks in a row.

Remind me to never pick Mark Levin for my dodgeball team.

I had him once as my #1 pick for the Supreme Court. Six yrs ago I would not thought Trump but today he has so far my vote. When we have such a weak bunch running for prez "The Donald" is by far the best.

If Mark were an honest man he would have researched the birther issue and reported his finding to his listeners.

How about the two or three US Army officers who refused orders based on this issue and Mark never gave them so much as an honorable mention about what they were fighting for.

When all is said and done Mark and his ilk will come out of this with a little less creds.

So what do YOU believe? Do you believe such consequences would be good for our country, or that they won’t really happen?

We don't have a Democracy. We have a lawyer-ocracy. We are ruled by these useless eaters who infest all levels of government and all elective offices. You are right about them being theoreticians. They are always compromising too. They have no political principles. What we need are more engineers, businessmen and accountants in elective office

Donald Trump is plenty conservative. Anyone who says he will put our military on the Mexican border is. He is Paleo-conservative on trade with China and OPEC. Trump has some liberal positions but so do Huckster and Romney so big deal.
Did you see him take on George Stephanopulis yesterday? This is what a conservative does.

First I have read of this.

You got a source?

The stuff the media is eagerly crediting him with is ugly

I believe the truth is always the right thing to pursue. And if by chance that leads to violence, then so be it. It's time we know who the enemy is.

Limbaugh played Steve Wynn audio excerpts today. Wynne spoke mostly how Obama-care was cutting into the take home pay of his employees by making medical insurance more expensive. I have to think Wynn  and Trump get on the phone together sometimes. Both have interests in Las Vegas.

Trump is certainly an egotistical blowhard, but he knows a bit more about business and finance than these parasitic lawyers who have been bloviating over theoretical policy for the last two decades and driving our economy into a ditch on vapors.

This is where we are today in this once great nation. Give me Donald over all of these politicians.

He’s just a successful businessman doing what it takes to be a successful businessman. I want him to commit himself to the conservative cause but not in a way that will turn off the general electorate. I also like that he is unseating Mitt Romney as the front runner. I may not be able to vote for Mitt. I can vote for any of the rest of them no matter how bad they suck except for him...maybe. I don’t know. His draft dodging chicken hawking ways are quite offensive to me.

If it is better to spend time on the issues, why spend more than a few seconds on Trump? It is strange that the right spends more time defending 0bama, than attacking him on his secrecy.

“I had him once as my #1 pick for the Supreme Court. Six yrs ago I would not thought Trump but today he has so far my vote. When we have such a weak bunch running for prez “The Donald” is by far the best.”

I had never heard of Mark Levin before coming on here, and I still haven’t ever heard his show, so I’m just going on what the transcripts posted are, and the kind of people supporting or against him. I was keeping it light for that reason, but by the sound of things he’s as much a loose cannon (as much damage to our own as to the enemy), Levin is, as anyone that could be named who’s claiming to be conservative.

The criticisms of Trump are valid - I mean the ones that are actually factually aimed at him and not claiming some extrasensory perception of what his ‘true’ motivations are. And they are concerns of mine too, but that’s all they have to be now - concerns. Let him address our concerns, not name-calling when he’s not there to respond, allegations that can’t really be disproven or proven, like why he does this or that, what he really thinks, etc.

He should be getting full support from any real conservative, anyone who really cares about the Constitution, for everything he’s aimed at the current administration. Criticize him for the things he’s saying now that are debatable or objectionable - tariffs, keeping Libyan oil, Iraqi oil, etc. But do it in context; do it in constructive criticism, not in the way some are here, including apparently Mark Levin. And you all know who this is addressed to (not you, Digger) without my naming names.

Maybe Trump is acting as a catalyst

Th right spends zero time defending Obama, but you may have a point.
It’s like playing with gasoline

Levin, you go, dude!

Trump, is a flim-flamming, wheeler-dealer; and he's ROSS PEROT II!

Obama's pretend detractor Trump is the best re-election friend that Obama could have.

“I have never heard of Mark Levin before coming on here”

But you do know who the “Donald” is.

That’s a problem

Hey Levin, try using your irritating voice to talk down the Democrats for a while, eh?
