I'm middle aged and can tell you about both. I get your point, but I find your indignation against people who enjoy a good old talent show unwarranted.

I saw my nephew at a family function and he had a copy of “Atlas Shrugged”. I’ve read it twice so I was talking to him about it. None of my inlaws had ever heard of the book. It’s one thing not to have read it or not to like it but never heard of it? I couldn’t believe it.
