Tomorrow is Good Friday, the day on which Jesus Christ was crucified. More important to many is that its also Earth Day, the annual gala thats taken on the trappings of a pagan religious holiday. At some level, its good to celebrate Earth, the source of life and home of humanity. After all, we have to live somewhere. Environmentalists, however, seem divided between those who venerate the planet as a deity and those who think its so fragile that it must be saved from everyone but themselves.
Newsweek magazine dismissed the first Earth Day in 1970 as a bizarre nationwide rain dance. The only difference between then and now is that the rain dancers moved into the government and pushed their views on impressionable school children around the world. The Environmental Protection Agency website encourages kids to Join with other teens to green your energy scene, because nothing says cool quite like earning the EPAs coveted title of Climate Ambassador. Instead of a rain dance, kids can help save the planet by downloading a rap tune by bureaucrats with inspiring lyrics like:
The USA is where we are to kick a new trend and to raise the bar.
The climate is changing and thats a fact,
Bears dont know when to take a nap,
On top of that it wont be cool when the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule.
Its time to get off the couch and start to move.
Honestly, the lame song keeps going like that for five minutes...

Earth Day always is the 22nd of April and this year it just happens to fall on Good Friday.
Ouch! Where can I get an eraser that will reach the part of my brain that absorbed that video?
The USA is where we are to kick a new trend and to drive a car.
Globull warming’s a scam and thats a fact,
Everyone knows it’s a load of crap,
On top of that it wont be cool when the taxes rise and democrats rule.
Its time to grow arugula... let’s move !
If you really do this (which I doubt) then I hope you get caught - and you’re lucky you’re not doing it in the wetlands behind my property since that is where I hunt geese and ducks and I would hate to have an “accident” with my over-under. There is a huge difference between fighting the socialist’s “green” policies and purposely defiling nature.
Good one bump!
Last year when I was shopping a young woman asked me if I knew what day the 4th of July was celebrated on.
Some people..........
ROTFLOL!!!
Now that’s a great depiction of Earth Day.
Earth Day. Right up there with Kwanzaa.
It’s funny, even though it’s apparently just an error. :)
If it was not for being so dry and having a fire ban, I would burn a tire for earth day.
There is a book called “Trees” written years ago. I don’t even know if you can get a copy. It describes the early settlers and the problems they had living in so called pristine locations. The trees without enough sun caused deep depression among other problems.
I suggest all the people who love green go live in similar circumstances. They would not like it.
Besides, this is not what they are really about.
It’s probably supposed to be in tomorrow’s paper, but why take all the fun out of it? LOL
Antways, I’ll be observing Good Friday, not dirt worship day. I’ll continue to be a good steward of the land around me, because it’s God’s land (not some dirt god’s land).
Will they kill themselves?
Please?
And maybe come back as moss?
We have almost 5 acres of land, which is mostly undisturbed. When we first moved here we cleared out a bunch of garbage. Bags of it. We have pileated woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, goldfinches, cardinals, hawks, fisher cats, at least one bear, coyotes, a fox, deer and on and on. We love it. We see all of this beauty and wonder at the miracle God has given us all.
Nah...let them come back as toilet paper. We can always use more toilet paper.
I will NOT be celebrating Earth Day in any way that the leftists mandate. Instead I'll turn on every gas and electric appliance full blast.
And in my mind, this April 21st is much more important to Texans as the 175th anniversary of victory at the Battle of San Jacinto.
LOL!
Thanks, those people really remind me of the idiot hippies of the 60’s.
Don’t forget to eat the fruit off the trees you’ve climbed bare footed to get the vital life source energy. :)
