Frontlines next exposé focuses on the decades of abuse of Native Americans by priests and other church workers in Alaska, and in one particular town they find, nearly 80% of the towns children were molested by Catholic priests.
As we reported on this story just a few weeks ago, the Roman Catholic Church, as part of ongoing lawsuits, will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims who were living in Alaska Native villages and Indian reservations from Montana to Washington, Idaho and Oregon, and who were sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s, according to a statement by attorneys.
The latest agreement will financially compensate 524 victims with $166.1 million in cases including accusations against 140 Jesuit priests, brothers, and nuns from the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, in the Pacific Northwest. Only $48 million will come from the Catholic Church, the remainder will be paid by its insurance companies.
None of the Jesuit priests are being charged with any crime related to this abuse, rape, and molestation settlement.

And who the hell do you think you are, jackwad?
The Our Lady Immaculate and St Philip Neri Catholic Church certainly thinks so.

I saw that. I warned them that they were tempting ultimate fate.
You’re out of your mind. Go back to your folk Masses.
WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ????
They’ve already placed us in Hell. Face it. They are not even Christians. They’re no better than Muslims, minus the killing.
As if that carried him to victory. What about Protestant votes? BLACK Protestant votes?
.....”that defines the way many Roman Catholics ‘think’ about their religion.” (Church)
Were I to guage that statement by the catholic posters on this thread then I would certainly have to agree...that is the way... they “Think”. Outside of this thread though there are catholics all over the map in their thinking toward their church.
Because of the sexual crimes committed against their children by their Priests, and the grand cover-up, I applaud those who have elected to leave the catholic church until this filth is completely eliminated.
Unfortunately how will they know who the perps are in order to remain or return?.... when children are threatened or afraid to tell? Especially since it’s a crime committed in the shadows and hidden. Because of this being so entrenched and so many involved how can the members “trust” the church now? I surely wouldn’t...but then I am not bound and obligated to Rome or a church but to Jesus Christ.
It is a very difficult thing for people to leave cults when they are deeply involved and dependant on it’s leadership...as well as their belief strong within it...that goes for any religious leader who requires obediance to them and or the structures of conduct they have instilled in it’s members....in the name of God...or a false God....
.... Years of indoctrination are not easily overcome.....but in this case, with the catholic church, I would think it a no brainer that if one has children better to move away from it IMO...I would not knowingly put my children at risk when facts have been established and proven and admitted, as they have within the catholic church. To me this would be putting my children in harms way. Better to locate a church fellowship which is similar...at the very least til the dust settles and the problem is corrected and justice served.
I will say again that my understanding of the catholic church was limited at best. But these threads moved me to investigate further. The more learned the more uncomfortable I became about their teachings and practices. Not to mention a degree of grief felt for it’s members as it was notable there was far more about rules, regulations, rites etc. all combobbled in such a way that few can understand where the truth really is or points....too many direction arrows pointing down many paths and leading away from our Lord to something else altogether.
Why they put such stock in so mnay of their teachings defies the mind from understanding.....for they clearly oppose Gods Word and are often simply traditions of men to confuse and confound the innocent. Very sad.
Today I was reading a news article about the catholic churches Bishops having access to the peoples money and use of which does not go thru Rome....so little accountability and many “crooks” have been discovered within the Priesthood, making themselves wealthy on the backs of the poor. There is a reason we are warned not to put our trust in any man.
I fear for it’s members Boatbum, for they do not understand the way that they go. Perhaps this child abuse issue, being revealed over and over and over again, God will use to wake up those who are truly His. In His word when He repeats something over and over again it is wise to pay attention...and put feet to ones prayers.
Answer my question. would you vote for Obama over Thomas, Scalia or Santorum?
Dr. Eckleburg's reaction in 556 is "ROTFLOL!!!"
Despicable

While I disagree with john grace’s opinion on Quix, let’s try not to fight with each other.
I do agree in what you stated, and that with the clarity written.... appreciated....and thank you for recognizing the direction of my post.
Lorenzo St. DuBois, RIP.
Conditioning comes into place in some respects, Quix can answer that better than I. But it reminds me of the unfaithfulness in a marriage, spiritual adultry though. It may be far too painful to accept the infidelity, for what that would mean, many woman cannot bear the truth and the losses which would occur so they excuse, hide, justify and even blame themselves when a husband is unfaithful....some even enable the deed unknowingly. So to those within the membership.....just too hard to face the facts.
Bible-believing Christians understand who Mary was. Rome has turned this simple young Jewish woman into a hideous golum whose characterization ridicules Scripture and is an absolute affront to the Triune God.
Is that any clearer?
Bible-believing Christians honor Mary as the mother of Jesus who is the equal of all believers, as Christ told us.
We do not ridicule Mary; we ridicule sacrilege and superstition and idolatry.
And after warning others, we flee from it.
No need to rephrase anything. Instead, I’ll repeat my earlier comment...
I said the blind denial of the crimes of these pederast priests, which we see every day on this forum, is Satanic.
Good analogy.
