Frontline: Priests Molested “Nearly 80% Of The Town’s Children”
The New Civil Rights Movement.com ^ | 4/19/11 | David Badash

Frontline’s next exposé focuses on the “decades of abuse of Native Americans by priests and other church workers in Alaska,” and in one particular town they find, “nearly 80% of the town’s children were molested” by Catholic priests.

As we reported on this story just a few weeks ago, the Roman Catholic Church, as part of ongoing lawsuits, will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims who were living in Alaska Native villages and Indian reservations from Montana to Washington, Idaho and Oregon, and who were “sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s,” according to a statement by attorneys.

The latest agreement will financially compensate 524 victims with $166.1 million in cases including accusations against 140 Jesuit priests, brothers, and nuns from the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, in the Pacific Northwest. Only $48 million will come from the Catholic Church, the remainder will be paid by its insurance companies.

None of the Jesuit priests are being charged with any crime related to this abuse, rape, and molestation settlement.

As the only qualified professional I’m aware of on the thread . . . in terms of assessing delusional . . .

Paladin1_dcs

is NOT in the delusional group.

As I saw one time, “Just because Jesus is head of the Church and has all authority doesn’t mean that He did not delegate this authority to others, or desire that one be His Vicar on Earth.”

I know that you weren't speaking to me, but I'm going to answer, No, I cannot remember ever experiencing the group think and other things that you mentioned. I'm told that I have an anti-authority complex. Authority figures in my life have always let me down and I neither respect, nor to authority without checking things out for myself. I'm not a joiner for the same reason.

I'm not the one making stupid statements and not backing them up. You made a dumb comment and I held your feet to the fire and now you're whining like a little child. Just admit that you're mouth fingers were in gear but your brain was in neutral and be done with it.

Thankfully, not nutty enough to believe

. . . particularly on no evidence and contrary to Scripture that . . .

—Mary didn’t have other blood children;
—Mary was sinless;
—Mary is the only one Salvation can be achieved through;
—Mary appeared out of the standard medium sized UFO at Fatima;
—Mary is the only one who can draw souls to God;
—Mary is Queen of Heaven;
—Mary hears all prayers to her with God-like omniscience;
—Mary is Spouse of Holy Spirit;
—Mary vanquished sin;
—Mary shares in the sanctity of the Godhead;

. . . or . . . that God wants individuals to focus on Mary’s “Immaculate heart” instead of on Christ or the Father.

Now THAT’s delusional.

Now we're getting somewhere. First of all, Jesus didn't delegate His authority. The Father delegated portions of that authority, but it wasn't Paul, who was the Bishop of Rome. It wasn't Peter either, although he did give Peter authority in other matters. Christ's authority was given to the Holy Spirit. No earthly man can claim Christ's authority over other believers.

Jhn 16:7-11 KJV - [7] Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. [8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: [9] Of sin, because they believe not on me; [10] Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [11] Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The RM and JR have both said unequivocally that AM is not and never has been a mod.

Those who persist in denying it and spreading the debunked rumor that he is are in essence saying that they know this for a fact and that JR and the RM are liars.

It’s biting the hand that feeds them.

Funny that they don’t trust the owner of the website and the mods modding it, but trust priests who molest children and defend them.

Sounds very reasonable . . . at least to a point.

Proper healthy God-ordained and Spirit led authority . . . rare as it may be . . . is different.

We as Christians ARE Christ’s representatives on earth...the body of believers IS his representative...with He himself the “head” of this body of believers. No other did He appoint as His representative save that of the Apostles. And they did not appoint an authority but saw Christ as their leader.

There is no Vicar of Christ except in Romes teachings....and why I and others would never subvert Christ’s rightful place over us for that of any man making that claim other than Christ. Nor would He have us do so. He is either Lord of all or nothing at all.

True, my opinion and .99 cents will get you a cup of coffee but the record is still there for all to see. You made a mistake and I called you on it. You aren’t man enough to admit to your mistake, that’s not my problem.

While I agree with the general direction of your post, I do disagree with one point that you made.

We don't represent Christ so much as we are witnesses to, about and for Him. Representation alludes to us having some kind of authority and while we do have authority over some things, after all, Peter was given the keys to the Kingdom, we are granted that authority by Christ and not by any actions on our own part.

Maybe there’s no man involved.

Maybe it’s just a robotic bit of software spun out of the Vatican cubby holes.

It’s not over til the “boil is completely lanced...and that on a worldwide basis......some have a start..but only those parishes who have admitted the problem for what it is and the size andscope in which it manifests itself.

“In Bavaria, the Catholic Church now intends to report all such cases immediately to the authorities..........
“We all have to deal with the consequences of utter evil in the world and in the Church,” says the current archbishop of Munich, Reinhard Marx. .......”This boil must be lanced. Everything must come out,”........ his colleague in Bamberg, Ludwig Schick, adds........ And the Bishop of Trier, Stephan Ackermann, who has been engaged by the Bishops’ Conference to handle abuse cases,........ openly criticizes the institutions of the Church, .......admitting that...... “there have been cover-ups in a wide range of cases. “A wide range of cases.”

Public prosecutors .......also have their work cut out for them. Up until now, they have had few opportunities to prosecute because the statute of limitations has usually expired for the alleged crimes......

.........But investigations are currently being conducted into at least ‘14 clergymen on suspicions of sexual abuse’. ......This figure emerged after asurvey of all 24 public prosecutors in Germany. .....Nine refused to comment...... In addition,.... 11 secular teachers and tutors are being investigated,...... including three former educators at the prestigious Odenwald boarding school.

At the same time,..... many Germans are leaving the Catholic Church,....... especially in the Catholic stronghold of Bavaria, where the faithful have been shocked by scandals surrounding the renowned Regensburger Domspatzen boys’ choir and the monastery school in Ettal as well as the reportedly lenient treatment of the pedophile priest, Peter H.,....By the pope’s own former archbishopric in Munich!

Officials in the cities of Regensburg and Munich report that, for the first half of March, the number of people leaving the church is nearly double when compared to the same period in February.
