Frontline: Priests Molested “Nearly 80% Of The Town’s Children”
The New Civil Rights Movement.com ^ | 4/19/11 | David Badash

Frontline’s next exposé focuses on the “decades of abuse of Native Americans by priests and other church workers in Alaska,” and in one particular town they find, “nearly 80% of the town’s children were molested” by Catholic priests.

As we reported on this story just a few weeks ago, the Roman Catholic Church, as part of ongoing lawsuits, will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims who were living in Alaska Native villages and Indian reservations from Montana to Washington, Idaho and Oregon, and who were “sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s,” according to a statement by attorneys.

The latest agreement will financially compensate 524 victims with $166.1 million in cases including accusations against 140 Jesuit priests, brothers, and nuns from the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, in the Pacific Northwest. Only $48 million will come from the Catholic Church, the remainder will be paid by its insurance companies.

None of the Jesuit priests are being charged with any crime related to this abuse, rape, and molestation settlement.

You’re taking Scarpetta’s sources as valid, since you’re backing her up.

Roman Catholic Church, ..... will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims. One is too many but these numbers are almost impossible to imagine! I frankly don't care what religion these beasts belonged to I will not be satisfied until some prison sentences are give n to those of today who have continued this crime and those who protected them.

This goes beyond appalling.....the numbers of incidents attest to the fact this was far more than a few sickos.....but a very real infilitration into the catholic church.... of which the leadership appears to have done nothing about and therefore are as guilty as the perpetrators for allowing it to continue and of all things protecting these sickos....

When is this going to stop! And any catholics who are not angered and disgusted about this are as supportive as the leadership has been who knew of this.

There is absolutely no excuse for this....none can cover the numbers.

Are the accused still alive, the acts were said to have occurred some time ago?

There are only two options here:

1. You can be on the side of the innocent children.

2. You can be on the side of the pervert priests.

You have chosen well, Dr. Scarpetta!

Well, we have countless testimony from those that were raped, we have the church records on the priests, and that they were moved because of misdeeds.

But, you don’t get it, if none of this happened, it wouldn’t have come to this point. You claim it didn’t happen, so the burden of proof is on you. I’ll go with the evidence and the testimony and the excellent detective work of reporters, along with the testimony of the victims and eyewitnesses.

You made the claim it didn’t happen, with no evidence beyond your stubborn emotional belief that it didn’t. You made the outrageous claim here, fully witnessed. Live up to your claim, prove it didn’t.

You are acting like a child.

Here are some other sites for the same information. A simple google search brought up a bunch of them.

Exactly.

These are headlines all over the world.

The church paid $166 million to people who were sexually abused.

Pope Alexander VI in (1492-1503)
The reports of this Pope include
Murder, Orgies, Incest, and Adultery

Pope Julius II (1503-13)
of which it has been said that
there was “not a trace of Christian piety in him”

Pope Leo X (1513-1521)
“The Pontiff has been accused of atheism,
for he denied God and called Christ,
in front of cardinals Pietro Bembo, Jovius and Iacopo Sadoleto and other intimates,
‘a fable’ ... it must be corrected”.
(Annales Ecclesiastici, op. cit., tomes viii and xi

Pope Adrian VI (1522-23)
was quoted to say

“We, prelates and clergy,
have gone astray from the right path,
and for a long time there is none that has done good,
no, no one”

(Secrets of the Christian Fathers, Bishop J. W. Sergerus, 1685, 1897 reprint, p. 227).

He lasted one year

It was in this context the Protestant Reformation occurred
Not that it has been without error,
it has been

Not that the fragmentation of the Body of Christ
has not been harmful,
it has been

But the context in which it occurred was
also profoundly flawed, and the Papacy Corrupt
Reformation was required

Protestantism also requires Reformation
The Truth of this is Bluntly Obvious
Doctrinal Drift
Teaching of Sinful behavior as Good
I have seen the full range of Sinful Behavior
Willful Breaches of all Commandments
In Professing Christians, Pastors, and Priests

The Body of Christ must
STOP This PROCESS of RECRIMINATION and BLAME
Our Witness is Profoundly Damaged
the Light before the World is severely Dimmed
and the World falls Deeper into Sin and Corruption

You have got to be kidding. This stuff is all over the interent and reported as “News”. All should be aware in order to incite public outcry that the leadership needs to come clean and get their house in order...arrest those currently they are protecting.

You and others can say what you will but there is absolutely not a single excuse for this happening nor for the protective measures which have been taken to protect these criminals. Nothing...nada.

False. You forgot

3. You can be on the side of the homosexual spouting false accusations.
