Donald Trump fired back at Karl Rove on Tuesday for labeling his possible White House bid a joke, saying the one-time senior adviser to President George W. Bush should be ashamed of himself for the role he played in pushing an agenda that turned voters against Republicans and paved the way for the Obama presidency.
Mr. Trump, the billionaire real estate developer and reality-TV-show star still weighing a 2012 race, said in an interview that the Republican brand was so tarnished after the Bush-Rove years that even Abraham Lincoln couldnt have beaten President Obama in the 2008 presidential race.
Honestly, Karl Rove ought to go back and start thinking about other things because what he did is, he gave us, indirectly through President Bush, he gave us Barack Obama, Mr. Trump said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated America's Morning News radio show. In all fairness to [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, nobody could have won that election because of what happened with Roves policies or Bushs policies.
In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Trump also came out strongly against raising the federal debt ceiling, saying the debate over whether to raise the governments borrowing limit was the strongest negotiating point the Republicans have.

Rove needs to sit down and shut up. He had his chance and like Trump said, Roves claim to fame is that he gave us Obama. I did noticed in the article the greatly over used phrase real conservative. This REAL AMERICAN is sick of reading that phrase.
Better a “Real Conservative” than a “Fiscal Conservative”...the latter, more and more I find, is neither
True, although Perot is a fungus, at least he was a vet.
Trump doesn't know a major from a sergeant major, and never spent a day in uniform. (Just like his secret pal, Obama, eh?)
.
LOL! Good one!

The Palin worshipers on this forum had better prepare themselves for this one. It will be quite ugly for their candidate. They posted this as a non-issue yesterday, but CNN has taken charge of it and it will be trouble in the coming weeks.
I think we are witnessing a reality show version of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. The boy who called attention to the Emperor’s naked state, probably was not suitable to be the Emperor, but was absolutely essential to honest public dialog.
Who among our favorite conservative candidates or pundits have had the stones to call Obama, the media or libs on the the fraud they have perpetrated. I think none. Even Sarah Palin & Michelle Bachman spoke out only after Trump proved that you could question Obama’s eligibility and not be destroyed.
I may not vote for Trump, but thank God for the Donald.
And union leader to boot.
Rove was The Architect.
Architect of a destroyed Republican Party.
Fair criticism too.
The past is the past.
People can and do change. Look at Reagan, Whittaker Chambers, and David Horowitz.
Trump’s “conversion” could actually be legitimate. Only time will tell.
But I’m enjoying the hell out of what he’s doing to both the Kenyan usurper and the spineless GOP “leadersdhip” right now.
Exactly.
If Bush would have been even a moderately good president, we'd never have a Chicago neighborhood level Communist for president today.
They called Rove The Architect
Yeah...Frank Lloyd Wrong.
That so called “Genious” brought us the nuttiness in Florida in 2000. After the Elian Gonzalez fiasco that year....Bush should have won Florida easily with all the South FL Cuban-Americans ticked off at Clinton/Gore over the Elian Raid. Rove could barely pull off FL that year
Karl Marx could have run a better campaign for Bush than Karl Rove
He’s letting himself be the target, and loving every minute of it.
Trump has a long way to go before I’m convinced he’s serious, but he’s off to a pretty good start. He’s taking down the right people.
In your dreams.
New tagline.
Exactly.
If fact, it Bush would have been even a moderately poor to average president, we'd never have a Chicago neighborhood level Communist for president today.
But I'd be happy to back Trump too - he is doing all that right now. He has teflon all over him...every strange piccadillo out there is known and embraced, probably even more than it ever was with Clinton. Every attempt to Bork Trump will fail and those trying will be stained with their own nastiness. Just the way it is with this kind of celebrity.
So I say, embrace Trump as a candidate, and if he holds up and thrives - then he's our guy to beat Obama. President Obama (2) or President Trump? Easy call I think.
I’m sure the Republicans will let Florida pick the next squish nominee again this time around, so dish it out Donald! As we swirl down the debt toilet, at least we’ll have some entertainment.
