Donald Trump fired back at Karl Rove on Tuesday for labeling his possible White House bid a “joke,” saying the one-time senior adviser to President George W. Bush “should be ashamed of himself” for the role he played in pushing an agenda that turned voters against Republicans and paved the way for the Obama presidency.
Mr. Trump, the billionaire real estate developer and reality-TV-show star still weighing a 2012 race, said in an interview that the Republican brand was so tarnished after the Bush-Rove years that even “Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have beaten” President Obama in the 2008 presidential race.
“Honestly, Karl Rove ought to go back and start thinking about other things because what he did is, he gave us, indirectly through President Bush, he gave us Barack Obama,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated “America's Morning News” radio show. “In all fairness to [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, nobody could have won that election because of what happened with Rove’s policies or Bush’s policies.”
In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Trump also came out strongly against raising the federal debt ceiling, saying the debate over whether to raise the government’s borrowing limit was “the strongest negotiating point the Republicans have.”

And “that man” is all about HIM self. Rush spent a great deal of time yesterday talking about how that individual is all about what’s good for HIM and his power, not about what’s good for America as a whole, and that America will NEVER be his priority.

I heard Levin playing a clip from Trump last year saying how great he thought Nancy Pelosi was, and the only thing he disagreed with her on was her not impeaching Bush for lying us into the Iraq war.
I like what Trump is doing right now in trashing Bambi, but he’s pretty clearly to the left of Olympia Snowe from what I can see.

Yeah, he was calling for tariffs against China with Rush, and Rush was complaining about that yesterday, saying tariffs are NOT a conservative position and I was thinking to myself, Rush, You Just Don’t Get It. Tariffs may not be the greatest thing in the world, they may not be “pure” conservatism, but they are needed now, and Trump gets the fact that the rest of the world is seeing what easy marks we are and sticking it to us. Tariffs are the answer.
You want to know what the REAL answer is, better than tariffs? Cut the f=king red tape. Get govt off our freaking backs. Muzzle the unions and the trial lawyers — send their leaders to jail. Defund EPA, OSHA, DoE, HHS. Demand a loyalty oath and fire those who refuse. Make liberalizm something loathesome that no one will admit to being in 20 years. Get the freaking job done.
If anybody else besides Christie were talking this way I would be supporting them.

That is a good question! I believe that Trump would treat her with grace and like a Lady. He would also be very diplomatic and pragmatic. Trumps interview with Rush was actually amazing and Rush just let him pass his ideas with great interest. I feel Rush was very impressed with the Donald. I certainly was.........

Palin would have the clear advantage in social issues but this election is not about social issues, it is about numbers (for most of America).
The psychological edge would go to Trump since anyone up against him would have to be waiting for him to point his finger and say, "You're fired".
I don't think we will ever see this and I truly hope that it does not come down to these two but it would be worth watching...
It's damn scary that we are actually thinking along these lines as if our party has no real options. Those with the real-world qualifications lack fire and those with the fire lack real-world qualifications.
About 10 years ago I stopped watching, listening or reading whatever the so these self annointed so called Conservative pundits put out.
As you noted they made a lot of money with their bs. One thing was to be the phoney token republican on the Sunday morning scream and shout tv programs.
As Kenny Bunk noted yesterday, at least we know the Donald is alive. With our wonderful candidates, it is really hard to tell if they are breathing.
The DC/NY pundits hate anyone who is alive and not afraid to take on them and the rats who hire them.

Judging from your review, I guess you didn't hear the part where Trump spoke of "reaching across the aisle" and how that was a good thing to do. Right then and there, most rational conservatives wrote him off, and this before all the info that has come out on Trump's historical view of issues. Being to the left of Olympia Snowe is not what most of us want in a candidate, but I guess for you that's okay.
Personally I think Rush just let him hang himself by saying next to nothing.

The Donald is at his very best when the guns and arrows start unloading in his direction. His interview with Slopagratomus and BOR are living proof that those who try to humiliate him in a controlled interview, wind up bleeding profusely from the ears and nose. There is no other candidate like him in the GOP field so far.
Palin is also very limited in her scope of appealing to the general Public. Her latest “brilliant” slogan is; “Fight Like a Girl? Are you kidding me? That is something you see at a High School Prom Fest, or High School Basketball game. And coming from a Prom Queen mentality, it seems to be the best she is capable of coming up with.
