Donald Trump fired back at Karl Rove on Tuesday for labeling his possible White House bid a “joke,” saying the one-time senior adviser to President George W. Bush “should be ashamed of himself” for the role he played in pushing an agenda that turned voters against Republicans and paved the way for the Obama presidency.
Mr. Trump, the billionaire real estate developer and reality-TV-show star still weighing a 2012 race, said in an interview that the Republican brand was so tarnished after the Bush-Rove years that even “Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have beaten” President Obama in the 2008 presidential race.
“Honestly, Karl Rove ought to go back and start thinking about other things because what he did is, he gave us, indirectly through President Bush, he gave us Barack Obama,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated “America's Morning News” radio show. “In all fairness to [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, nobody could have won that election because of what happened with Rove’s policies or Bush’s policies.”
In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Trump also came out strongly against raising the federal debt ceiling, saying the debate over whether to raise the government’s borrowing limit was “the strongest negotiating point the Republicans have.”

I never paid too much attention to Donald Trump. I knew he made millions by going bankrupt and had a splashy divorce. Then he had a reality TV show that I never saw.
Now I can’t believe the more he says the more I like him.
My thoughts exactly. I don’t think Trump intends to run. He is just having so much fun creating a diversion and making the MSM on both sides, spend countless energy and resources trying to define him.
This will play to our advantage.

You should see Trump against ABC George Step-on-all-of-us morning show! THE BEST YET. George, filibustering all the way, was hot and not in a happy way. Cooly, Trump trumped him....again.

Donald is giving the GOP the enema it so richly deserves.
Pretending to run to the right of the GOP potential candidates, and pretending to be concerned about a birth cert (that even Ann Coulter says is a non-issue) is designed to do two things:
1. Turn the primary race into a food fight, drawing candidates into loaded arguments that can be used against them later; and
2. Aping his fellow hyper-self-promoting-wheeler-dealer-turned-election-scoundrel-arrogant-unstable-untrustworthy-creep...Perot, Mister Trump will run as an indy in order to take conservative votes away from actual candidates.

Well, you know, there are a lot of good people here at FR that despise him for this or that and things in the past. But I have to tell you, what he is saying and the positions he is taking in the here and now are spot on.
He’s going to be vetted during the primaries anyway, so let’s just wait and see what happens.
Yes Yes Yes. I just wish he would have said simply “I dont give a &*^% what Karl Rove thinks!!!” but I will take what he did say.
