>>HOUSTON - Police and medical responders were called to Betsy Ross Elementary School in Houston after a gun accidentally discharged, injuring three students. A six-year-old is accused of bringing the gun on campus.
A spokesman for the Houston Independent School District tells FOX 26 News a kindergarten student bourght the loaded weapon to school. It fell out of his backpack during the lunch period and discharged, injuring him and two of his classmates.
Aerial views from SkyFox showed the three children being taken from the school on stretchers to waiting ambulances. One girl appeared to have her foot bandaged up while a a boy had his knee wrapped up. All three appeared to be conscious and in good spirits.
The school district says none of their injuries were life threatening.
Right now, investigators are trying to figure out how the six-year-old obtained the weapon.
Upset parents could be seen arriving at the school.
