I always wonder about those things. There’s a huge windfarm along I-65 just north of Layayette, IN ( Purdue ) which extends for about ten miles along the highway. There seems to be hundreds of them. Sometimes they aren’t even turning, or turning lazily. Other times they are turning, but then I’m thinking, “OK, they’re turning, what then?” and I start doing all these calculations in my head, but then I forget about them. I just can’t see that they amount to anything useful.

Ever buy an electric floor heater or electric blanket, as they get older, due to the heavy current they pull, the cords start getting warm or hot and then need to be replaced as fire hazards...if your smart!

I dont see how a house(the wiring), especially an older or barely to specs house, is any different when you plug a car(electric heater or blanket) into it!

” There’s a huge windfarm ... I just can’t see that they amount to anything useful. “

Well, they’re about to do the big wind farm in Nantucket Sound (the one Teddy Kennedy objected to because he could see it from HIS house), and it will double the cost of electricity to the Cape Cod consumers it serves. How can you say it doesn’t amount to anything? It’s redistributing wealth, isn’t it?
