Andrew Breitbart’s remarks at Tea Party rally are hypocritical, lack self-awareness

Here’s ultraconservative activist Andrew Breitbart at a Tea Party rally in Wisconsin last Saturday, with a message for pro-union forces that had shown up:

“The Tea Party has been the most peaceful, law-abiding . . . group in the history of American protest. . . . You have no right to lecture us on civility. You have no right to lecture us on language. . . . Go to hell! No, serious. Go to hell! Go to hell! You’ve been so rude, you’re trying to divide America. . . .”

Right. And telling people to go to hell because you disagree with their politics isn’t divisive at all. That’s an instant classic of hypocrisy and a breathtaking lack of self-awareness right there.

Then again, this is the same Andrew Breitbart who went on Twitter in the hours after Ted Kennedy’s death to call Kennedy a “villain,” a “duplicitous bastard” and a “*****,” so he’s well-qualified to tell others they can’t lecture him about civility.

Of course, Roper neglects to mention the full context of the situation. He claims the pro-union activists at the rally just disagreed with Breitbart's politics, but Roeper conveniently failed to mention the jeering and vuvuzelas used to try and drown out Breitbart and Sarah Palin.

I rarely agree with liberals, but on this one, they have it right. Breitbart should have followed Reagan's approach instead of using derogatory remarks...

the sad thing is that Breitbart is very hypocritical to even his own party members when they do not tow his line of thinking. He is arrogant & a snob. He is a media whore who loves the limelight just as much as obama.

Can you spell “narcissist”?

Yes, I’m sure he’ll call-out the “ultra-liberals” in his next column.

Breitbart isn’t sending threatening notes and intimidating businesses.

Breitbart isn’t out there suggesting that people he disagree with be silenced because their language is dangerous.

You apes in the liberal media really shouldn’t be throwing stones from your house of crystal.

"Right. And telling people to go to hell because you disagree with their politics isn’t divisive at all."

He wasn't telling them to go to hell because he disagreed with them. He said it because they were doing everything they could to disrupt Palin's rally just to disrupt it. They just wanted to keep her from speaking. It was total thuggery and Andrew was spot on.
