I think you’re right. I remember hearing him on television shortly before he was killed and I was surprised by what he said. It wasn’t the usual civil rights hustle that I was expecting.

From your post regarding Marable’s continuing teaching positions at multiple universities, can’t help but wonder, why did he move from college to college? Did each board of regents fire him and he just moved on to the next university?

From the looks of things, the guy couldn’t hold a job.

It was reported in June 2004 by activist group Racism Watch that Marable had called for immediate action to be taken to end the U.S. military's use of Raphael Patai's book The Arab Mind which Marable described as "a book full of racially charged stereotypes and generalizations."
