Most municipal systems have Transite asbestos pipe. The EPA Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) is 7 MILLION fibers per liter. It’s estimated that municipal drinking water contains between 200,000 and 2,000,000 fibers per liter. I am in the asbestos consulting business (don’t hate me - I’m like your accountant, helping people negotiate the tax code). Somebody’s got to do it. Might as well be a conservative who doesn’t drink the koolaid.

Where I live, the tap water is full of minerals. It tastes horrible. For drinking water, I need to either filter it or buy bottled.

Where I lived before here (Tehachapi, CA), the water would sometimes come out brown. No one in their right mind drinks brown water.

I have my stainless ecobottle right here. It has been with me every moment for the last two years. You have to be a lunatic to pay a water bill and then buy bottled water.

If you are an ecoparanoid, buy a filter.

I just drink tap water... Maybe that is how I got brain damage; but once it sets in, such things are of no concern.

I have occasion to visit manufacturing facilities. Water fountains are unused and many are plain grimy with disuse.

America will truly be in recession when the various types of bottled water sales are in decline. Till then, times are good

Glacial water from before the atomic age is probably the safest bet.

I have actually drank water from melted ice off a glacier.

If you can choke down that nasty stuff, more power to you. A LOT of minerals and other stuff get layered into that ices.

I won’t avoid brown watter but cast a dim view of yellow water!

I’m thinking right now the bottled water was bottled before it contained any radioactive iodine from Japan

I wonder how many of the older water systems still have lead pipes in use?

Drinking fluoride is very dangerous. Using it topically on your teeth and rinsing is not that horrible, but drinking a lot of it daily is neurotoxic and can destroy your health, google it, read dr. Blaylock on it.

Therefore if your tap water is fluoridated you’d better drink bottled.

Get a Berkey. Works really well...gravity fed...filters last for 1000’s of gallons.

Come to Indiana where the water tastes like crap. I only drank bottled/filtered water. And I bought ice cubes, because the water from the tap made cubes that destroyed the taste of anything you drank. Now I live in an area with great tasting tap water, and ice cubes are clear.

Tap water, by all means.
Two summers ago, I remember seeing a couple of pallets of bottled water out back of the local grocer. I made a mental not not to ever drink that stuff when I noticed the light green tinge in the bottles.
Tap water is subject to testing and regulatory control. Bottles water is not regulated and thus is subject to the whims of the seller.

WTF?

Most tap water would kill a goldfish? I'd be worried...if I were a goldfish.

By that reasoning we should all drink sea water, since it is the elixir of life for a crap load of fish.

Oh, wait...drinking sea water is worse than not drinking at all.
